Moderators that work on the forum great job on updating it.. it looks very cool and advanced..
One thing that u excluded when u updated is the time when messages are posted .. it was very usefull when it was there on the old forum layout..
( say you go to HOT DEALS section and on the right u will see POST DATE.. it shows the date but u forgot to add the time.. on the old forum u had the time and date..)
please add the times when you have the chance..
again thanx alot slickdeals.

Testing, testing, testing.
Edit: Testing edit.
Edit2: Yeah, see. When I edit my posts, it doesn't say when I last edited the message or if I even edited it at all.
Also, something I saw on another forum. Instead of posting the time the posts were posted, hehe, maybe we could do a thing where it tells the individual member how long ago the post was posted. I think that's actually a lot more helpful. So say it's like 5PM right now and somebody posted something at 4:46PM. I could be reading the thread and see that it was posted "14 minutes ago."
Dunno, up to you about doing this. But definitely I think people fixing the lack of a message informing people whether or not a post was edited and when would be nice.
Edit3: Okay, now I'm seeing the edited time and date message. I didn't notice that at first. Please disregard my request on the editing messages part, lol.

You have 2 minutes from the time of posting to edit your post without having the "Last edited by" showing up.
The hours/minutes ago might work for posts that were posted within 24hrs. Anything over 24hrs (2 days ago etc) isn't very useful.

Great update to the forum!
i was wondering if any of you guys can change the font size by going to View->Text Size? I'm just not used to viewing everything so big.

The new forum UI was irritating for the first few minutes, but now i can see the advantages.
Keep up the good work!

Hi,
Nice new look, and you kept it secret!!
If it is not much work, is it possible to have posts automatically sorted by post date (descending) so that we see the last post on top. Everytime I go into the forums I have to manually sort it.
thanks.

Do you mean "New Posts (http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/search.php?do=getnew) / New Deal Posts (http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/search.php?do=getnewdeals)" ? If so it's already here...

In case you haven't found the options yet:
in your User Control Panel (http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/usercp.php?) click on Edit Options (http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions) (located in the left column under "Settings and Options". Scroll down to the third section "Thread Display Options" and choose from:
Linear - Oldest First (In this mode, posts are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously.)
Linear - Newest First (This is the same as the above mode, except that posts are ordered in an opposite way <newest first>)
Threaded (In this mode, a tree is shown along with every post. This tree allows you to see the relationship each post has to others, in terms of who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time.)
Hybrid (This mode is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed like in the threaded mode, but multiple posts are displayed simultaneously like in the linear modes.)
