Hey. I just got a Omnitech 16878 - US from a woot bag of crap and it has the 1 GB SD card inside and the Destination folder but nothing else. When I boot the GPS it does not load and just stays at the system loading page. I am wondering if anyone has the files that should be on the Micro SD card and if they could upload it somewhere on the net for me to download :)

Again, I do not need the actual maps, the destination folder is there... but that is the only folder there is. The other files shouldnt be that big.

Thanks to any fellow SD'ers who can help!!

Step by Step fix for stock unit:

WARNING : RUN THIS PROCUDURE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Download the files. http://www.kingelect.com/en/SOFTWARE/GPS-update-20090615.rar

Four files:

main_compass_sw.5.11.00.bin
gps2gmouse.3.24.00.bin
AutoUpdate.ini
AutoUpdate.exe

1. Place the following for files on the SD card .. I placed a of the files copy in root & a copy in Destinator folder to be safe.

2. In the Destinator directory rename Destinator.exe to Destinator2.exe

3. In the Destinator directory and rename the Autorun.exe to Destinator.exe

4. reboot.

5. Let the GPS do the update.

6. When it is completed. turn off the GPS completely

7. Pulled out SD card an put in on a computer.-->remove the four files (including newly renamed Destinator.exe) from both the root and Destinator directory

8.Rename the Destinator2.exe to Destinator.exe

9. Place the SD card back in the GPS and turn on the GPS

Thanks for the response, but I have already tried this.
The problem is not with my firmware.. I do not have an operating system to run the GPS on. It doesn't even boot up. It says "File no found /SDMMC/WinCE/Explorer.exe " as in, I do not have the WinCE system files.

That is why my last resort is to ask for somebody to send me all of the actual files so I can just update my SD card with the right files.

Hello AznGreanTea,

I am wondering if you fixed the problem with you GPS. It was probably awhile ago and got rid of it since then. I have the file you need and you have the file I need. Can we make a trade?

Mine has gone past the boot screen but is stuck on the "Go / Map / Settings" screen. I'll try to upload what's on my SD card, or if you can suggest where I can keep them and provide you a link???

BTW, the link provided previously, to fix satellite acquisition, doesn't seem to work. It's a broken link...

I checked out my SD card. On it is 807 files / 27 folders / 928 MB. I don't know where I can upload all of this. But since my system is stuck on the one screen (Go / Map / Settings), would it be of use? Not sure what's wrong with my system.

Looks like they're having the same problem as me here, from the 10th post on down. Reading for a solution...
