THIS IS NOT A HOT DEAL, I JUST WANT THIS THREAD TO BE NOTICED.
To the moderators and all:
I propose the creation of a sticky (possibly this thread) that contains all current and active codes for free ShutterFly prints.
The Hot Deals and Freebies forums are cluttered with ShutterFly threads, and I think a sticky on top of Hot Deals would calm the confusion among users looking for active codes.
Please post if you (dis)agree with my propostion, and I will begin adding all current codes (with credit to the OPs) if people desire I do so.

I agree, there are too many of these threads floating around, we need to put them all together.

No, if we do this, soon the whole first page will just be stickies. It's not that hard to do a search for shutterfly and choose the most recent thread.

we need a poll, and in my opinion all these codes have come up recently it hasnt been like this forever, so i would say one thread, but not a sticky.

what is a sticky?

Leave it like it is. These things will come and go, new codes will be buried in some long thread no one will be able to find.

Please vote YES even if you just want a thread and not a sticky, I can't control whether a thread gets "stuck" or not anyway, that's up to the mods.

I agree, but I think it should be in the Coupons forum with the other stickies (OD, CC, Staples, OM, etc). IMHO, I think any retailer (like ShutterFly) that people often get coupons for should have its own sticky in the Coupons forum.
Like Chachito said, we don't want the entire first page to be stickies, so we should stick to only the more popular retailers. Either that, or the mods could create a locked subforum that would contain only threads for the coupons of specific retailers. "Locked" meaning no creation of new threads allowed (only mods would be able to move threads to the subforum), but users could still freely post replies with coupons in the existing threads. That way we could essentially have our own site like Dealcoupon.com (http://dealcoupon.com) and keep.
Anyone think that might be possible?? Mods, your thoughts?

I think those are two very EXCELLENT and realistic ideas.

(or maybe some kind mod will add a third option to the poll: "Yes, but only a thread is needed--no sticky.")
There's really no point in having a thread like that without making it a sticky. In fact, I thought there already was a Shutterfly thread that someone started not too long ago, but it was never made a sticky.

very good idea. they are obviously in an advertising frenzy and we will see a lot of coupons and offers so while it's hot we should make one thread for them and sticky it.

dude for one you put it in the wrong forum, secondly the mods have taken note or your suggestion, so stop complaining
OK hennaheto, and I clearly knew I was putting it in the wrong forum, I just wanted more people to see it.

Besides, it'll still show up in hot deals as a moved thread for a little while longer.

Deals with 36 thumbs up votes should have it's own thread at least for the day. Otherwise, it gets buried in a thread with mediocre coupons that no one will notice. If there is an official thread, it can be merged after it has it's time.
Example: The majority of people would not be able to find the $20 off $20 Dell coupon if it was buried in the Dell coupon thread.

I for one do not like those stickys. Stickys should be for one time use coupon codes like Staples, CC, etc.., not with codes that everyone can benefit from.
my latest gripe is with that "Movie Screening" thread. I'm not gonna weed thru posts, screenings that are expired or not in my market and comments just to "hopefully" find something in my market with the movie I might want to see. Usually end up getting disappointed.
Same point....if you sticky a Shutterfly, you'd have weed thru old and expired codes and comments in between to get to new codes.

Don't forget the fact that I'm willing to update the original post of the sticky with new codes and stating whether or not they are expired/active.

After taking a close look and raising this point before, I would be against having all codes in one thread at this point. My reasoning is the fast cancellations of the codes lately. I too once thought that having one thread for them would be a good idea. It obviously can't be verified whether shutterfly is monitoring SD and other sites for posted codes, however, the fast cancellations (now 24-48 hours or less) are much faster than earlier posts for free print offers. Putting them all in one thread would be like putting all of your eggs in one basket, sure it's a little easier than searching but if the deals get cancelled and even reversed out of accounts, what's the use of having them conveniently bundled in one thread. That’s my two cents worth on the topic.
Now who’s ready for another free print offer?

whta's so hard about just checking the LAST page of an Official thread to see the new codes?

Because there's 387 replies after the code is posted. Geez you dog is purty.

i'm all for a shutterfly thread; it'd make it easier to find codes. of course, it's got to be well-maintained, otherwise it's no good. since the OP seems willing to do the job, i say "go for it!".
sticky would only be worth it if valid codes keep coming (and it seems like shutterfly is slowly wising up). then again, quizno's has a sticky, and i'd much rather have digital prints than sandwiches

Yep. I'm still more than willing to maintain the sticky.
Very true about the Quizno's sticky. ;)
