In response to ongoing confusion about blocked sites, and especially over the broken links that result, I'd like to suggest a slightly different tactic.

That would be registering some junk domain, and changing blocked links to point there instead of their original target. For instance, "thissitehasbeenblocked.com" is available and sufficiently unambiguous.

I believe Apache can be configured such that all urls within a domain point to the same page. A simple page with the text "Links to this site have been blocked by the Slickdeals administration" would probably get the point across.

This wouldn't require too much tinkering with the existing filter, I think, since uses of the filtered name in text and links could both be replaced with the .com.

That really does the the trick!! Thank you, Mr. SD. That should alleviate a lot of confusion. :worship:
