Ok,who is the megalomaniac with their finger on the button that closed this thread? For me, this equates to prematurely pulling the plug on a helpless patient when they have a chance at life. That person will now never live to see their harddrive/trays arrive and will never have another chance to debate key ethical issues regarding the topic. So now we choose to save a little space on a server in some far-away land over our own freedom of speech?
The interest in this thread was, well, interesting. And now it sits idle. Sad souls log in here and there to view posts, but those posts are in the past. No new posts are allowed; only a memory remains. And what are we left with? Lounge topics like "I had a burrito for lunch today" and "This picture needs a caption, boy" along with some Shutterfly deals and the latest Woot, right on time, every night, with a thumbs down quickly following.
As a news flash, some people like me have yet to receive any cancellation emails and would like to hear other peoples' experiences and thoughts about this interesting deal (that is obviously not a "done deal" at the moment). After all, what is Slickdeals about? Are we just going to give up on this and never speak of it again? What's next, removing the thread from existance? Why not? Its closed. It can only cause a problem right? Complaints like this? Maybe this post can be removed too and we can all just fall in line. Well I'm no quiter and I know a good majority of those who followed that thread won't lay down either.
Perhaps we have a place to continue our discussions of the IBM thread. Maybe someone (Kronus) DID take advantage of the $1 domain name deal the other day and put up a site called "IWantMy37DollarIBMHDD.com". Don't bother checking, it's not up. So where do we go?
Please interject and show support or call me a lunatic and request I be banned from this site. I'm impartial and believe the true man in charge of this site would see that worst offenses have been acted out on Slickdeals, i.e. the 1000 or so people who called about this deal.
This post is full of exaggeration and is meant to simply request the thread be reopened.
Hopefully others support me in this effort.
