sweet little Jayden Jean was born on July 8th at 10:26 pm 5lbs 11oz and 17.5 inches long

she has jaundice so they have her under the light but they believe she has no effects from the car accident. My niece was very lucky a few bruises and a couple scratches, from the accident.... the emergancy help said she is a miracle to be alive, the car is flat and totaled.

congratulations just some advice if she is nursing if not it doesn't matter. Here is a copy of the article I read because my friends child has it. They are very blessed that the baby is in good health. What did they name her for her middle name

Breastfeeding jaundice: jaundice can occur when a breastfeeding baby is not getting enough breast milk because of difficulty with breastfeeding or because the mother's milk isn’t in yet. This is not caused by a problem with the breast milk itself, but by the baby not getting enough to drink.These can prevent the excretion of bilirubin through the intestines. It starts after the first 3 to 5 days and slowly improves over 3 to 12 weeks.

I hate snakes!
Our usual Sunday a.m. routine before getting ready for church is sitting on the back patio reading the papers and drinking our coffee. I'm enjoying a peaceful time out there, with my foot on the footstool, look up and coming right at me, about 5 feet away is a snake. Not just slithering slowly but looking like he was in full attack mode. Jerking and jumping towards me! I jump up, put my foot THROUGH the fabric on the stool, fall back into the chair which spins and then falls over with me in it, as I'm screaming "Get it away from me"!
DH grabs the hoe (kept on back patio just for that reason), it turns course and goes between the Schnauzers legs. Finally DH kills the :censored: thing. Did I mention I HATE SNAKES? I can't even sit on my own :censored: patio and enjoy it! And, now I'm going to have a huge bruise on the back of my leg where I fell. It embarasses me how I react but I couldn't help it when he looked like he was coming to attack me. Poor DH handled me with kid gloves. I don't even remember basically standing up on the footstool.
I know my blood pressure went sky high..my hands were shaking so bad. Sheesh!

Dunn's is definately a tourist trap but the nephew's loved it when they were younger. We did a private tour and then they drove us around the island.
Otherwise it is a very unsafe to hang out. I believe Princess even stopped going there.

I see nothing in the info that the crabby cream cannot be used with "others". I was so hoping it would help me at night since it's the worst but doesn't seem to help. Just not ready to go to "drugs":mad:
He sent her a text when he got here...and of course, her phone is her alarm clock and it woke her up. I could tell that she was actually sleeping when the dogs started barking. He or his friends didn't try to contact her today and she seems okay with it all. I am marking it down as yet another teachable moment...I've been getting a lot of these!

The salmon wasn't as bad as I thought...but it still stinks in my house. It did bring back a lot of memories as my mom used to make salmon patties...from the can...with bones...and when we were poor salmon patties were a treat!

I should have never told Oprah no...I live life with no regrets...but this one is a close one!

Don't know if it would be a better deal or not, but there is a $3 Huggies printable out. I have two extras I could send you if you would use them. Actually I could probably print from a couple more printers here at work, so could send you more than that if you would use them and it would be a better deal for you. IDK the current price of diapers so can't tell ya if it would be better than the pamers T deal or not. If you want the printables just let me know.

You preggo mommas that have been stockpiling diapers - what is your stock-up price? I have a friend that just found out she is expecting and wants to start stockpiling. She was asking me what price she should use as her stock-up price and I didn't know. She is pretty straight and narrow so wouldn't be doing any deals that weren't 100% legit. Can anyone give me a suggestion to tell her? Obviously this is YMMV, but I was hoping I could get something to start with and then we could variate from there.

I noticed the Pampers diaper deal in last week's Wags ad and thought it seemed pretty good so I pointed it out to a friend with an 18mth old. She doesn't even take the paper so even though she though the price was good, she didn't have the coupons (much less the RR's) to do the deal. I bought some for her, she paid my OOP cost, but since I don't normally pay much attention to diaper deals, I was interested in what you guys thought was a good stock up price. The deal last week at Wags was two fold. If you spent more than $20 on Pampers, you would get a $5 cat coupon good on your next purchase of Pampers. So the first time you did the deal (2 jumbo packs (approx. 27-30 diapers depending on the size) of diapers and one pack of wipes), it cost 13.49 and you got back $3 RR and the $5 cat Pampers Q so the OOP was 10.49. Each subsequent time you purchased, it cost 5.49 OOP because the $5 cat Pampers Q would roll (print again).

I know that prob was hard to follow:
buy 2 jumbo packs of diapers plus one pack of wipes

first purchase - 10.49 OOP
subsequent purchases - 5.49 OOP
obviously the subsequent purchases were the best deal, but even if you consider the wipes a "bonus" and do the math on just the diapers, that made the cost per pack $2.50. I thought that was pretty good considering these are usually $12 packs at Wags (WM price is 8.97 for this size).

She thought it was an awesome deal, but like I said, she is not a usual coupon user. And since I don't usually pay attention to diaper deals, I wondered what you guys thought.

Sounds like a really good deal to me. I was going to say a stock up price of $5 per pack originally because we live in the sticks and don't always get to get in on great diaper deals. So to me, $2.50 sounds like a great price. But that's also why I wanted to ask these guys since my stock up price would be different than theirs. Hopefully someone else with more current diaper pricing experience can weigh in.

It is rare, but this week I wish my DD was in school! She is not making packing easy for me but she just had a major meltdown so maybe she got it out of her system! I have been able to find some summer camps in our new area of town for when I am unpacking but right now there is nothing. Now, if I can just get through supper...I'm making salmon on the george forman...not a fan of salmon at all, but we are trying to eat better...my house stinks and my guess is I will just have to gag it down! I need to find some other "good" things to eat! DH's dr told him to lose weight and eat better, so he is on board and my thoughts are it should be easier than the last time I was watching what I ate...but I can't get in the groove again!

Sounds like a really good deal to me. I was going to say a stock up price of $5 per pack originally because we live in the sticks and don't always get to get in on great diaper deals. So to me, $2.50 sounds like a great price. But that's also why I wanted to ask these guys since my stock up price would be different than theirs. Hopefully someone else with more current diaper pricing experience can weigh in.

It is rare, but this week I wish my DD was in school! She is not making packing easy for me but she just had a major meltdown so maybe she got it out of her system! Don't know if it would be a better deal or not, but there is a $3 Huggies printable out. I have two extras I could send you if you would use them. Actually I could probably print from a couple more printers here at work, so could send you more than that if you would use them and it would be a better deal for you. IDK the current price of diapers so can't tell ya if it would be better than the pamers T deal or not. If you want the printables just let me know.

She was asking me what price she should use as her stock-up price and I didn't know. She is pretty straight and narrow so wouldn't be doing any deals that weren't 100% legit. Happy birthday Rach and PurpleorchidsI'm going to be a grumpy person today! Not much sleep for me last night. We were all asleep and our dog started barking just before 11. I went downstairs to see what was going on as he never barks...didn't see anything. Then he barks again and I hear DD moving around in her room, so I go and ask her what is going on. She says that her "ex" is outside as she had wore one of his sweatshirts home one night and he was here to pick it up she guessed. So, I got dressed and took the sweatshirt out. I think I surprised him when it was me and not her. He started saying he was sorry etc. I said that he was done messing around with Sydney and that if he did anything or even talked to her any more he would have to deal with me and that would not be a good idea since he has now woke up our whole house. I will have to figure out who brought him as there was another person with him, but I didn't even look at him to see if he was an adult or a child. I did tell them to drive safe since they live 1/2 hour away...but needless to say, I didn't sleep well after that.

I was proud that she went in and deleted him and all of his friends from facebook. I hope that they don't text or call her now. Hopefully a good learning experience for us all.Good for you and her!

He sent her a text when he got here...and of course, her phone is her alarm clock and it woke her up. I could tell that she was actually sleeping when the dogs started barking. He or his friends didn't try to contact her today and she seems okay with it all. I am marking it down as yet another teachable moment...I've been getting a lot of these!

The salmon wasn't as bad as I thought...but it still stinks in my house. It did bring back a lot of memories as my mom used to make salmon patties...from the can...with bones...and when we were poor salmon patties were a treat!

I should have never told Oprah no...I live life with no regrets...but this one is a close one!You might want to get her to use a real alarm clock and shut her phone off I am amazed at what time these kids are still up texting or wake up texting. I need to get on Katie again too I am sure. I have in the past told the kids no phone after 10 (except certain times) and if I caught them on it later I took it for a whole day. And they know that I am allowed to read their phones at any time. For a whole day I knew what was being said. They did NOT like that. Reminder to get on Katie. She does better than DS so sometimes I lose watching her so closely. Shame on me.

Ariel has a post-partum hemorrhage that they tried giving her medicine for before delivery but not sure if it worked or not since she is bleeding heavily.

Anyway, she didn't want you to think she was lax in keeping in touch, she's just resting and taking care. I told her NONE of us expected her to do that and just to relax and focus on healing and taking care of that beautiful new baby :heart:

It was exciting too. In the final inning, there were 2 outs and 2 runs scored. We were up by one run. If we could manage to get an out, we would win the game. If the other girls scored, it would be tied up and the inning would be called (max of 3 runs per game). The ball was hit to our pitcher, she eyed the runner coming home and tried to beat her in a flat out sprint.

Within a matter of .04 seconds, the base runner touched homeplate first and the game finished in a tie. It was quite thrilling!

I just wanted to let everyone know that at Wally and Target in the Star Wars toys there are $5 peelies. They are on the large helmuts and light sabres, and say "$5 off this Hasbro toy." These work on the Star Wars figurines, so I got the boys some figurines for $1.50! On Iron Men figurines I found $2 and $1 peelies. ... They are bright yellow and really easy to peel off! If anyone comes across the $5 ones, I would love to trade you for them!

Try a Zyrtec and then a Sudafed during the day and then Benadryl at night. That's what helps our DD who has terrible allergies.

Mentioned it to DH when he was getting in the shower and he said to get DD ready and she could go with him for the morning. Was able to find a cute new spring dress and her purse and pink shoes and her DS and charger and stuff to color all while DH was in the shower and everything is already packed in our house!!! Now I have 2 hours to pack alone before we have our walk through of the house and then closing in the morning! Of course the draft is this weekend so we will have to work around that but I think we are in good shape for the movers on Monday.

Hi friends, long time no chat. We've had a pretty busy week. Easter fun this weekend (pics are up on FB), busy week at work, crazy Tuesday road trip to the best, most amazing hockey game I have ever seen, got home at 1am, worked the next morning. I looked a little silly being this fat in my cute, fitted hockey jersey, but I had to wear it all night. ;)

The babe is at her grandparents, so dh and I are trying to squeeze in some happy hour dinners because we know it will be a very long time before we get to do that again. Now at home watching hockey and trying to rest this tired body. Tomorrow is work and then book club. This weekend we're heading north (again!) to help my parents move. Sheesh! Makes spending all day teaching junior highers seems like the easy part of my life. :D

I am just starting to realize how MUCH I have to do before this baby arrives. I don't have a thing washed, but that's not too big of a deal since I hardly have much to wash for him. I better go shopping at some point. With Sofia, I had so much stuff because I had 2 showers by this point. But at least I have diapers, and it will be warm, so diapers and blankets should get us through summer. :D Need to get a baby book and dig out the infant stuff (car seat, bath, etc, etc,) Need to move DD's stuff out of the closet and into her new room, but that means finding a new home for everything in my gift/storage closet. What's a girl to do??? This is going to be the hardest of all. I need storage solutions. Okay, my to-do list could go on for pages, but I promise I'll stop boring you with it (for now).

So happy to hear this! I've been through a tornado and know how these people are feeling. Although the magnitude of the damage down there is much worse than what we experienced. Monday after work taking DS to the pediatrician in the city for his allergies. Wednesday evening preschool enrollment & information meetings. Friday evening DS parent teacher conference. One good thing for me though is this is my last week of classes for this semester! The break won't last long though because I've worked out a plan of attack and if I continue with 3 classes at a time I can be finished in December! I'm excited about that because I thought it would take me much longer. It will suck having that many classes this summer but I'll just have to keep telling myself that it is only for one year.

I have a prayer request. My best friend from high school that I am still very close with has learned that they believe she has a pituitary tumor. They said the majority of these tumors are not cancerous but there is still that possibility. She had some testing & an MRI this week and will meet with specialists next week to see what is next. She has two kids and is currently fostering two more (a 6 month and an 18 month old) that they hope to adopt so she really has her hands full right now. I know she could use all the prayers she can get so if you have a minute I would appreciate it.

Hey all! :wave2: I am home! We got home late last night (around 10:30 pm) and we got settled.The dr's were debating on whether to keep me and Lily for another day, but I begged to get to come home! I wanted to be back with my girls and family! :heart: I tried to sleep in my own bed last night, but that wasn't happening. Momma Junie and I ended up sleeping downstairs on the couches. I slept with the recliner, but since my incision is still so fresh, I can't put the foot rest back in. Hence why Momma Junie stayed downstairs with me. She is such a HUGE blessing! She stayed with me the whole time (even at nights) while in the hospital (J had to go back to work). I am soo very thankful! :heart2:

Lily and I have been doing well today! She has been sleeping for 2-4 hours at a time, even at night. She is VERY alert when awake and calm and content! I hope this lasts! The dr. told me to wake her up every 2 hours to nurse during the day (every 3-4 hours at night) to make sure she doesn't lose too much weight. She was 7 lbs 10oz when we left the hospital, so that was only 8% of a loss, not so bad. My milk came in so she is one happy girl! She is a GREAT nurser, so I am a happy girl!

The rest of the family is adjusting to having a new baby. Soph is probably having the hardest time. She scared the crap out of me this morning when she walked up to Lily with a hairbrush (regular hard kind) hidden behind her back. I told her "NO!" just in time. We are really going to have to watch her closely with Lily (The day before she wanted to give Lily a fruit snack :eek:).

I am hoping to get J to do some cute pics of her tomorrow so that I can do the announcements! I would really like to get them done asap!

Yes, it is - her name is Kellie. We were in the same class in high school. She got pregnant when we were juniors in high school. Then ended up getting married to the baby's father a couple years later. Once they wanted to have another baby they never could. She was undergoing fertility stuff at the same time as me. She had lots of hormonal issues and other reproductive issues, which in the end she to have a hysterectomy a few years ago when she was around 27. I asked her if this pituitary thing could have been part of her womanly/hormonal issues but haven't got an email back from her yet so don't know. Her daughter is now 13 and then a few years ago they adopted a little boy who is the same age as my DS (4). They adopted him through the DHS foster to adopt program. Now they have these other two little ones that they are trying to adopt as well. It is a long crazy story, but they've been trying to adopt these two little ones for awhile now and DHS keeps making various mistakes. (like sending them back to the bio mom when she hadn't had a drug test for 3 months!!! You guessed it, once they figured that out they gave her one she failed.) Anyway, this deal with the two little ones has been a nightmare for them and she really doesn't need more to deal with. But, God has a plan and she's trying to trust that. She could really use all the help she can get though. Thanks for the prayers.

Yeah, my mom is saying that I need to not be doing so much but I've never been one to take it easy. If I can see the light at the end of the tunnel I'm full speed ahead until I get there.

Yes, Kellie is who you sent the diapers & wipes to. I think I forgot to tell you what she said - first she sent me an email asking if it was me that sent her an enormous amount of diapers & wipes (she thought it was me since I had asked her a few days before what size diapers they were in). I told her yes but that my friends had some extra codes and helped out with them since I told them her story and they were a super good deal. Then she sent me a very heartfelt thank you note in the mail. She said they showed up at just the right time because they were just about out and how wonderful it felt to have someone provide them with a necessity. No, she doesn't live close to me. She lives in our hometown which is about 7 hours from here. I do try to see her every time we go back to my parents though so I do see her several times a year. I wish so badly that we lived closer together because we have shared many of the same heartaches in life and it is so nice to have someone understand you during those times. We have helped each other through many of those times but being able to actually be there and help her out would be so nice. I sent her a virtual hug since that was the best I could do right now. You are right that sometimes a big hug is the best medicine.

Anyway, this deal with the two little ones has been a nightmare for them and she really doesn't need more to deal with. But, God has a plan and she's trying to trust that. Did anyone do anything for May Day? Katie and I went to church last night after everyone was gone and put a Nestles Crunch in each box with a Happy May Day Label. It was fun. Doone helped with the candybars so It was from all of us. Some people knew it was us but most didn't. The funny part is that DH (who knew I had boxes of these candy bars and knows we do May Day every year) was wondering who did that. We did May "Blessing" Baskets for Sunday school this morning. The people that we brought them to love them and were excited about them. We went to Fieldcrest Assistant Living (ladies from our church) and to the Village (handicapped/disability) people that attend our church. Our 5th grades (8 of them) were also excited. Hello Everyone. We hit 30 weeks today! YIPPEEE!!! But if you've seen my FB, you know that I am freaking out over dh's trip to Morocco next month. Since this is a public forum, I can't get into specifics, but let's just say that when I found out that the trip as still on and work said he had to go, it was the angriest I've ever gotten at him (and you guys that know me well know that dh and I do not fight, and he's actually one of the most laid back people and caring dads/husbands ever)

He is up for tenure this year, and budget cuts are steep, so we are walking on pins and needles until that letter arrives. There was a terrorist bombing just a few days ago in a very popular cafe for tourists (dh had actually eaten there when he was there last time) but they are being assured that it was an isolated incident, and Morocco is actually very safe.

Not to mention that I will be 9 farking months pregnant next month, and Daniel came 3 weeks early, so there is a very good chance Maddie could come early. They are allowing him to cut his trip in half so there is no chance he will miss baby's birth, but we will still be gone 13 days, and not to sound selfish, but he really needs to be home taking care of his family and not in farking Africa. Sorry for the rant, but I've been so angry that I haven't even been able to talk about it, and now that this has happened, I'm close to going over the edge, and he has alot of colleagues and friends as my FB friends, so I can't really talk about it on FB. :mad: So farking angry at him right now. :mad::mad:

We had an fun day here. Lots of family time today, which was nice! We gave Lily her first bath at home. She HATED it! :lol: Alexa and Sophia helped out and J and Junie took pics and video! Then we did a small photo shoot of her while she was alert and calm. We got a few nice ones (posted on FB) and one that I really liked for her announcements. J thinks we can do better, so he wants to try again another day. IDK, we shall see. I will attach the pic I like for the announcements and you can tell me what you think of it as 'the pic.'

Yes, Kellie is who you sent the diapers & wipes to. I think I forgot to tell you what she said - first she sent me an email asking if it was me that sent her an enormous amount of diapers & wipes (she thought it was me since I had asked her a few days before what size diapers they were in). I told her yes but that my friends had some extra codes and helped out with them since I told them her story and they were a super good deal. Then she sent me a very heartfelt thank you note in the mail. She said they showed up at just the right time because they were just about out and how wonderful it felt to have someone provide them with a necessity. No, she doesn't live close to me. She lives in our hometown which is about 7 hours from here. I do try to see her every time we go back to my parents though so I do see her several times a year. I wish so badly that we lived closer together because we have shared many of the same heartaches in life and it is so nice to have someone understand you during those times. We have helped each other through many of those times but being able to actually be there and help her out would be so nice. I sent her a virtual hug since that was the best I could do right now. You are right that sometimes a big hug is the best medicine.

speaking as an L&D nurse, I can tell you the men in the delivery room are pretty usless :lol: That being said, for the perspective part, I can say that I have delivered many a baby were the daddy wasn't around and I don't mean that he just didn't show up. Had a couple of women where their DH died during their pregnancy......super sad. Two had the big C and one was a soilder that was killed in action. There were a few soliders wives who's DH couldn't get leave and the women were "hoping" he'd be able to make it home in a week or two.

Not selfish but I know you are terrified as I would be in your situation.

My advice would be to share this rant with only your neighbor friends on FB. This way they will make sure you are well taken care of when he is gone.

The old thread for them did not give me the feeling that I would get them easily so good for you and fighting hard for them! :worship: I was a wimp and let them expire. :( When I read your post, I was hoping for a second that there was some way to still get credit for them at this point.

Do you have a backup plan? I know you have spoken of not having much support there. Try to spend your frustration on a back up plan just in case. That might ease your pain a little. I would show that to DH and see if he is ok with it. I know sometimes we get very caught up with it being perfect. I did too and sometimes I need to just say good enough and relieve the stress. In other words is the stress worth it? If not, order. No one will know the difference in the end.

I don't like Lily's hand in that picture either, other then that the picture is great. I have to say that I can't wait to watch little Lily grow. I have this gut feeling that we will be hearing some amazing things about her. So far in all of the pictures I've seen of her, she seems so alert and wise (i guess for lack of a better word) Even in this picture the way she has her fingers spread wide open, I don't know it just doesn't seem like she's you usual sleepy newborn. I guess thats what I'm trying to say. She seems older then just a few days and has a very wise look about her. I bet she is going to be a early talker! and I can't wait to hear what she has to say :)

Okay...I am trying something new...who knows why? I bought a bag of dried black beans and soaked them overnight. They I was like...now what? So, I threw them in a pot with some spices, onions, garlic, green peppers and some water and have it boiling...I hope it turns out edible...but my guess is that it will be intersting.

Does anyone use dried black beans in anything? I was trying to avoid the sodium for DH, but I might just try rinsing canned next time!
