They are on the http://forums.slickdeals.net/ page under the FAQ

General FAQ http://forums.slickdeals.net/faq.php

But here is the link to the Abbr. http://forums.slickdeals.net/faq.php?faq=sd_faq_item#faq_new_faq_item

You should read all the FAQ's because they are very helpful. Because of them I am half the idiot I was when I started here! Well, some people would challenge that :P

Welcome to Slickdeals!

What acronyms?? :confused:

OP is probably referring to initialisms and abbreviations rather than acronyms.

Radar is an acronym for radio detecting and ranging;
SWAT is an acronym for Special Weapons and Tactics;
DARPA is an acronym for Defense Advanced Research Project Agency;
NATO is an acronym for North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

FWIW, IMHO, LOL, IRS, CEO, LMAO, are initialisms or abbreviations.

Acronyms are pronounced as independent words, initialisms and abbreviations are not.

One can easily pronounce the acronyms GIF and FUBAR, but not the initialisms CIA, FBI, and HTML.

... See Xnarg was helpful..to a point...Xnarg was off on a tangent, as usual, :drool2:but that was after the main point had already been answered.

That's the job of the Intermediate Doofus/Information Stylist Level 7, though.

I'm almost afraid to ask how you pronounce "SHTML".
