I have been noticing that lots of times, even when someone is getting positive feedback or rep points on a post, the thumbs up icon is not getting clicked. This should be an automatic... am I wrong?

It's going to hard to link rep to thumbup. A person could give valuable information worth rep pts but not be the original poster.
Although link thumbup to OP rep might work. So you click thumbup the OP autmoatically get rep pts.

What I meant to say was, whoever is giving rep or positive feedback should make sure to give a thumbs up as well. This feature seems to be overlooked by some. Even if you can't give rep yet, you can still give a thumbs up.

Some people dont bother because, whats the point? you can tell by someones replies if the post is good or not
