C:Windows\system32\Config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible.

Trying to run Vista, and keep getting this message with a mostly blank screen and only a toolbar at the bottom. I've tried various solutions from online to no avail (though they did help me catch and purge -- hopefully --- a virus). :mad:

Any suggestions? THANKS. :nod:

Boot from Vista CD and run the repair option?

Yes this is a good idea especially since he had a virus. It likely damaged some key system files.
