Different Icons for Contest/Sweepstakes?

I thought maybe having different icons could help people...I know some types of contests are more popular than others.

For example you could have: Daily, One entry, Weekly, Monthly, Unlimited, Instant Win, Other

These would help people identify right away what type of entry it is, which I think most people will find helpful

Maybe I'm just jealous of other sections that have cool icons :lol:



Any thoughts??

I think this is a good idea. If there's going to be icons, this will be better than having those other icons that exist in Freebies & HD.

I was actually thinking of the samething. That is what brought me to the suggestion forum.

I was mostly concerned about the Instant Win Sweepstakes. Like maybe a seperate section for that, but the icon thing sounds good too. Seems like there is more a chance of winning w/ the Instant Win ones compared to the sweepstakes that you enter once and forget all about.

Yeah, the instant ones are always pretty hot, and I know people are looking for them. It also clutters up the forum if the poster types what kind of contest it is in the thread title. I just figure a way to help would be different icons.

I noticed on the "bleep" site that they have now started a thread for just daily entry contests. I think its a great idea.

Seperate thread will be too hard to go through every page every day.

If you mean a new forum, we already have one set up for contests, so we won't need a special one just for daily-entry contests.

It would be nice if we had some official way of organizing types of contests. There are just so many and lots of them get lost in all of it. I mentioned before having different icons...but maybe having the contests broken up into different subforums based on type wouldn't be such a crazy idea.

I already suggested a subforum for "ongoing" (never ending) contests but was told they don't exist. Tell the Detroit paper that sponsers the movie contest that.

I agree with the Icon idea, only b/c I forsee a boat load of Mod Alerts for "should one time entry", "should be daily entry", etc.

After logging in one night & finding 30+ Mod Alerts :nono: never again, please!

I can imagine how awful it would be to be a MOD in that forum.

But it would be handy to have the one time entry ones vs. daily entry vs. instant win noted separately. :)
