When do you consider the six month cut-off - the exact date or do you just round it off to the first of the month?
Example: Today is May 4th. Is the 6 month cut-off December 4th or December 1st?

It's when the 1st post in the thread is made.

Depends on how anal the mods wish to get.

Personally, I've just been going by the month. And the members reporting them have been really good about knowing when the cut-off is. But I'm going to try to be better in regards to the day of the month. If it's a few days, then I'll merge them. If it's drastic, such as 2-3 weeks, I may not merge them.

Technically, 6 months ago from today was Nov 4 05, so anything posted after that should be merged.

I don't want you to think I'm taking issue with you on this! Just to explain my figuring ...

Today is May 6
1 mo ago = April 6
2 mo ago = March 6
3 mo ago = Feb 6
4 mo ago = Jan 6
5 mo ago = Dec 6
6 mo ago = Nov 6

That's all.
