i had that happen before, it means that the thread is too old to rep that person. i remember someone asking about it before

what thread was this? anything over 30 days aren't reppable.

I had this problem when i was a wee n00b.. i quickly figured out that you can't rep someone from a pm or by looking at their user info.. if you try that is the message you get.. OP where are you trying to rep from?

You can't do that. You have to rep from one of the persons posts in the hot deals, freebies, or tech support forums.

Just click on the persons username and then "Find more posts from XXX"
Then look through their posts until you find a post in the hot deals, freebies, or tech support forums. then you are able to rep that post. Just click on the green box/number and then enter your comment.

I sometimes get this kinda msg:
Invalid thread specified to post reply...some kinda msg like that..i refresh or back n click reply, it works!
