.... long story short there's a critters nest in the 8" chimney liner.
Chimney's on a slate roof 40' off the ground with access blocked by an eave to crawl around. $750 to have cleared out and inspected, two guys for three hours and $200 for each additional hour. Thinking now I should have tried snaking it from the bottom and pulling it down, for the cost of a snake. And if they break a slate it's gonna be grief, and yes it'd be more grief if one slips off.
Just venting, is that a lot to pay for taking out a nest?
