I don't know if this is already true and if it is even possible but I think deal postings by newbies(maybe 3 months or newer) should have to be reviewed by mods. Some deals by noobs(now pointing fingers or naming names) just straight suck.

that'll be too much work for the Mods. If you don't like the deal then just move on. What you think is an awesome deal may be shitty to another. It's all subjective. Just enjoy what you can.

I don't think we have to ability to screen like that.

what it boils down to for me is that i don't look at the hot deals how i used to (partially cuz i am much more busy) but partially cuz i know that a lot of the deals just sucks whereas before a lot of the deals "weren't for me" but i appreciated the deal.

if that's the case maybe just look at the front page or the threads with 3 or more (whatever number) thumbs up

just a suggestion....

we don't want to get into a quality screening. yes there are less then stellar deals, but its hard t oestimate what others will like. it takes some timing to realize what gets good response, what doesn't. if you discourage them that's a lot of potential good deals missed out.

we used to screen every thread that a new person posted but it just took to long and any good deal got pushed to the second page or more by the time we got around to it.

It be nice to have a thing that does not let people like a limited number of post, post in a thread section say hot deals.

What I mean is say like you need 400+ in post to start posting in hot deals. Been seeing people with less than 400 post just flaming deals left and freaking right and not trying to help people out.

NOt typically, when i see someones name that I recognize from the lounge or as a regular HD poster, I will always look in because 99% of the time it is a good deal. People that have been here for a while understand what is a good deal and what to post and also what not to post.

Geeke is right, most of the people who are flaming deals are from people with few posts/few reps/fairly new.

It happened rarely before, but now it's picking back up.
