how many reps do you have to give, before being able to give a recent good poster more reps?

it's not by number of reps you give. At 1 year it goes up to +2 for you. There are other milestones also that increase your reps

It has nothing to do with how many reps you have. You should be able to give reps without any problems. :dontknow:

my bad, I think what you mean is how many OTHER reps do you have to give out until you can re-rep a specific poster

ohh... i thought when i tried to give a poster (with different good posts) 2 reps, i got a message saying to spread the reps around to others before repping again.

shouldn't i be able to?

You cannot rep the same person 2 times in a row. I am not sure what the number is until you can. Any MOD should be able to help you

Judging from past experience, I think that you have to spread the rep around to about 4 or 5 other people, before you can rep the same poster again. (but I can't swear to the exact number :).)
