Neither my Breyers nor my Klondike EQ worked at all. I did not load the store Q for the $2.79 price, but handed it over last. Safeway can be so annoying!

You should print out the J4U shopping list with the items you are purchasing when you shop. If a particular item does not deduct, bring it to customer service and ask for a refund. After all, these are Safeway's coupons and they have to refund you.

I just want to say thanks :hug2: to everyone here for reporting back on their experiences. I've been able to stock up on quite a few things for very little OOP. Today I rolled 2 CATs that were expiring. Don't have my receipt but it went something like this:

Stouffer's Steam Harvest
2 Eggo (Homestyle, Low Fat)
Blue Bunny Wedding Cake Ice Cream
- $1 Stouffer's MQ
- .75/2 Eggo MQ
- $5 Frozen CAT
= $3ish
got another $5 CAT

I also added 3 Nissin Big Cups to each transaction (on sale 2/$1) and a Yakisoba (on sale $1/ea). Paired nicely with the $1/3 Nissin MQ and the .50/1 Yakisoba MQ. I bought 2 Magnum (1 mini classic, 1 mint), 1 Klondike Oreo, 1 Breyer's Blast Reese's Pieces. The Just4U e-coupon for the Klondike ($2) came off at both the SCO and then the regular checkout. The Breyer's Blast one ($3) would not come off at SCO, so they had me go to the regular checkout, where it also did not work. Apparently, though, this store had a register code, which they had written on the back of the Just4U counter poster, to use as a Just4U coupon override. As such, the cashier punched in the code, after I showed her my Just4U Savings list on my phone. It took off a manual Just4U $3 at the end of my receipt. I had no physical coupons except for the $2.79 ice cream Vons coupon.

My receipt says:
Klondike Oreo $0.79
Magnum Mint $2.79
Magnum Mini Clsc P $2.79
Bryrs Prlor Reeses $2.79

I just bought 3 Magnum minis and one Breyers Blast. The store coupon adjusted the Minis to $2.79 and the Breyers to $3 and the e-coupon came off.
here's what my trany looked like yesterday:
buy 4 Blue Bunny @ 2.99

total after coupons and cat $4.73 and got another $5 FF

I think the reason the in-ad coupon only gave .49 was because Breyers e-coupon was $3 and that brought the price to zero, as far the starbucks and klondike, they were already under the in-ad coupon price of $2.79
I also didn't want to risk not getting another $5 FF cat, so I bought the extra Blue bunny

Thank you both for your recent reports on the Breyer's blasts working. I did exactly as you both shared. I used the in-ad coupon for the Breyer's for $2.79 combined with the e-q of $3. Comes out to zero. Yay! Repped you both and now anyone in the Portland, OR area can know it's working here.

Rolled my cat today on Stouffers and cadburry Ice cream. Chocolate ice cream coated in chocolate. Yum!! If you haven't tried the stouffers farm harvest. It is very good and my card is printing a $5 OYNO in addition to the $5 FF with every 5 I buy!! $4mm yea! I used the $5 OYNO to stock up on garbage bags. No cat printed for the glad bags. I did 2 transactions both with 2 packs of the $5 bags. No cat printed. Ugghh I need to contact Cataina. I have always had great luck with them so fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help!!

Tried on Ling Ling Potstickers tonight (I think the tag said $10.49 but it rang up $9.99) and then cat didn't take anything off (I thought cat was $5 off $5, but anyway it wouldn't have rolled with $9.99 I guess unless it counts before RC price), so went back to add an ice cream for $0.99 but another cashier came over and adjusted it applying a Q for $5 off Potstickers but no Q printed. The $5 cat can only be used on the NEW frozen items. These are tagged at some stores. Or there's a list here on the thread of those items. (Ling Ling is not on that list.) Otherwise, it has to be forced in if you have a friendly cashier. Not sure why you didn't get another $5 - maybe something in how they rang it up.

I should have also said that there is some real wonkiness with the promotion this time. If you read here in the thread, you'll see lots of folks are having problems with it. I haven't (and I'm also here in TX) but I have stuck to the same items over and over. Plus, Just4U doesn't work for me, and that seems to add to some of the problems as reported here.

One thing pointed out several times here...you must have $10.00 or more in frozen foods to get the $5 cat. $9.99 is not enough.

I literally walked around the frozen section looking for a $1.25 filler and settled on a $1.29 can of frozen lemonade so my total would just over $10. :)

I went tonight to do my weekly grocery shopping and had a really good trip. Total was $175.65 before card & coupons and $47.74 after. It was a very, very good run for me. However, despite the fact that I had over $23 in frozen foods (about $11 after all frozen coupons were deducted), the $5 CAT didn't print (and I didn't even pay with a $5 CAT either so it wasn't that). They ended up giving me a $5 GC.

The Breyers and Klondike e-Qs both came off for me. I got the Mrs. Fields chocolate chip Breyers Blast and the Oreo Klondike, if it makes a difference. I really wanted the Reese's Breyers, but it sounds like that one's not working for many (all?) of those who have tried it.

Things worth mentioning, even though I know most have already been brought up here (just want to repeat in case others missed and are interested):

Carefree Pantiliners are free after $1/1
Farmer John breakfast sausage links are free after $1/1
Ocean Spray & Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks/rollups/etc are nearly free with coupons (I used $1/1 OS peelie, .50/1 OS that doubled, & .50/2 BC that doubled. Paid .99 total for 4 boxes since the register automatically deducts $4 wyb 4 boxes)
Capri Suns were awesome deal @ 1.99 ea wyb 8 items and then paired with recent b3g1 free coupon (register automatically took off 2.79)
Found one variety of Dial hand soap for .99 and used .35/1 that doubled, making it only .29
Totinos pizza rolls were .70 after .40/1 coupon doubled
Farmhouse pasta boxes were .89ea & coupon on box for b3g1 free (register automatically took off 1.59)

I did two transactions. In the first one I got 2 Waffles (low fat) and 2 Pillsbury Toaster strudel and used .75/2 Kellogg's Waffles coupon and .50c Pillsbury Toaster Strudel coupon plus a store coupon to get $1.99 and used a 5$ catalina and paid $1.48 from a credit card and got a $5 catalina.

It's so weird that though the $5 frozen cat ARE store coupon, but it DOES NOT effect the $10 requirement to get the new cat, but the doubler DOES (at least in my case).

At first, I tried 3 of steam in the bag and 2 reglular meals. Used 3x$1 and 1x$1 , the $5 cat and $2 doubler. Paid $1.50 and got back $5 cat.
Since I found an abandon $5 cat in the shopping cart, I thought I would try to buy $10 worth of Stouffers (2 steam in the bags and two regulars ). Used 2x $1 and 1x $1 MQ and $5 cat then doubler took another $1.50 off. Paid 50 cents . No new $5 cat printed :(
I had no choice but believe that the 2nd tranny, doubler dropped my total under $10 that's why it did not print. Couldn't go to CS as they said they gave me the $5 cat back ONE time as courtesy a few days back, so I guess it's the price for figuring it out.

I always get at least one non-frozen item (when skirting the $10 min) to offset the doubler and it seems to work.

Ok, just quoting myself to point out that stores even within 2 miles of one another don't already have the same price. Not sure how/why, but they don't. As an example, Pillsbury Egg Scramblers show on my receipt today as $7.00 regular price (for two) and shows no card savings. The in ad and manufacturer coupons both came off fine though.

Tried buying 4 Stouffer's at two different stores, two different days. Didn't get any catalina either time.

However, went to customer service each time and got $5 refunds. One rep tried to tell me the catalina only prints for selected items. Luckily, the Stouffers is featured in the section of this week's ad advertising the $5 frozen catalina. So, I'd suggest bringing the ad along if you need to talk to customer service about the Stouffers.

Just a few reports from today:

I have bought all 4 kinds of the Stouffer Steamers for one and they have all produced the $5 FF cat, I have rolled the cat each time.

I also bought the Diginoro Pizza with Cinnamon Sticks and the $3/2 manf cat is still printing and I also got back the $5 FF cat.

The new exp date on the FF cat is 4/2/12

Bought the Breyers Blast Golden Oreo & Birthday Oreo and they both were free after the $3 JFU EQ and in-ad coupon. I used 2 different cards to get both free.

I also bought the Klondike Slim-A-Bear 8 ct and the in-ad coupon worked made them $2.79 -minus $2 EQ. .79 cent oop.

as long as 2 of the 4 were garlic chx and/or tortelinni I could throw in 2 of the other flavors and it would roll, but if it was just shrimp or the southwest or other flavor I could not roll it.

I suspect it has something to do with it being a "DEPT" store coupon, probably just not coded correctly in factoring the minimum.

As for the doubler, it's always shows up as a generic store coupon. Sometimes, the cashier does up to (4) $.50 entries, and sometimes just enters in $2.00 (although either way it shows up the same on the receipt). So I don't see how that can attach to the frozen food *unless* there's nothing else.

I'm not sure if just adding say (3) $.50 Nissin noodle cups and using $1/3 Q will make you get the CAT in that second transaction....or if you need to have something absorb the entire/partial doubler store coupon balance from the frozen food Qs. I always get at least one non-frozen item (when skirting the $10 min) to offset the doubler and it seems to work.

I just got 2 Stouffers and 2 Uncrustable ($2.99 each) and did NOT get a new cat. I did use a $1 doubler and a $5 cat but I also had $6.29 worth of ground turkey in my tranx. ???? I also had a horrible experience at SW, but I posted it in the chat thread.

I got 3 Stoffer's of The harvest one's in small bag's and a gallon of some new ice cream sorry I don't know the name , totally was $12.48 I used 3 $1.00 stoffer's and 3 double's $7.98 minus my $5.00 FF Cat $2.98 and got back a $5.00 CAT .have no more stoffers coupon's or would have done this 10 more time's I am loving this FF deal my freezer is almost full because of all of you Thank's so very very much for all the help

I probably would have just slowly backed away and then fled from that transaction after the $5 CAT didn't scan with the items you bought. No clue on that.

Then i did a steam kashi meal, that is over 5 before the sale, so it took it off, i think before the computer changed to the sale price. There's no rhyme or reason why this FF CAT is not printing, but I have been buying $15 worth of FF stuff, particularly when I am using a $5 CAT to pay for the FF items. I have been getting the CAT consistently since.

Who was it that mentioned that a manual entry for double/triple coupons would mess up the FF deal? Well, I can sadly confirm that. I did a transaction that I'd been doing many times now and added a Dial soap to use the .35Q. The Q beeped and she manually entered it. The $5 CAT went thru fine but I didn't get another one. I'm guessing it's because the Q brought me below the $10 mark. I started to feel bad but I'm kind of glad now I only have 2 to do deal with.... I had still Klondike on my list, but no e coupons came off. I used mine on saturday, yesterday it was still on the list, got some more, no e coupon came off.

The only thing I bought that should have come off besides the free products were frozen products that had a limit of 4. I only used 3 so in theory there should still be one more but it is showing as 4 not 1.

IF you are getting the Whoppers in the Breyers Blast please be very careful....Especially if you give it to children.
In the carton I had purchased a few weeks ago there was a substance in there that was hard as a rock- literally.
Fortunately I did not break a tooth or have it get stuck in my wind pipe but I was lucky...I could have easily done either or worse.
I contacted Unilever because I was concerned for the safety of others.
It turned out after testing it was exactly what I thought.
A whopper did not have the chocolate coating to protect it and when it was heated it the process it calcified.
Since it was the size of a whopper and the color of one but hard as a stone that is what I figured happened and they confirmed it. Since they had the plant information from the carton hopefully they did something about it so it does not happen again...but

Same here, my Klondike eQ I used last week still shows up as unused on the website. I remember this use to be a really annoying problem back when you could load eQs from different websites to your Safeway card. Back then, the eQs you loaded from the Safeway site had a tendency to stay on the list after redemption. Once they got stuck on your list, they would stay there until the eQ's expiration date but you couldn't redeem it again during that time.

I thought they had fixed that problem awhile ago, but I haven't used that many Safeway eQs in the last year...so dunno.

I would get 4 boxes of Eggo NEW waffles. Pay $5 after $5 cat and get $5 cat again. Those whole grains are yummy and they go great with cheap indulgence cream cheese a few weeks back.

- Under the new Sara Lee's sliced pound cake the tags said: the promo run thru Tue. May 22nd.

In the past, if I handed over a manufacturer's coupon that was larger than the J4U coupon, then the J4U coupon removed itself and I only got the Manufacturer coupon. That was a few months ago, so is the system allowing both to go through now?

I called but later sent an email in with more information. They are saying some of my items were not participating but couldn't tell me what. No help whatsoever.

Got an email from catalina today. On the phone they said some of the items did not qualify. They could not say which ones. I emailed the UPC codes and now they say they did qualify but I used coupons so I did not meet the $10 threshold. Anything else I can do? From past experiences, they will come up with a different excuse every day until you give up. So lame.

I bought spinach salad and a clearanced Yoplait Greek yogurt with granola (total came to about $1.20 after coupons) and TWO frozen $5 CATS printed. The cashier tore one up and gave me the second.

Strange. I bought NO frozen foods at all.


Wow. That takes the cake. This deal is a hot mess.

THIS CAN BE VERY IMPORTANT

A whopper did not have the chocolate coating to protect it and when it was heated it the process it calcified.
Since it was the size of a whopper and the color of one but hard as a stone that is what I figured happened and they confirmed it. Since they had the plant information from the carton hopefully they did something about it so it does not happen again...but

This was in the Breyers Blast Ice Cream not just in regular candy whoppers. If you are used to eating the candy and it happens often that is one thing but it was not something I would expect in ice cream.

That $5 off is a strange beast. I scanned it first a SCO, and i scanned a couple non frozen items. Then i did a steam kashi meal, that is over 5 before the sale, so it took it off, i think before the computer changed to the sale price. Interesting trick i may try to do again when cashing out of the frozen deals....

Just got back from safeway, I reluctantly ran out to use my expiring kellogs milk q's - I just couldn't throw away 7 gallons of milk! I bought the dino yogurt ice cream duo's with the magnum's, and magnum minis. Both the mini's and the reg. size printed the new $5 cat.I got double choclate, almond, and the dino- and the dbl choco, almond and cadburry caramello kind. total was 3.3? each tranny, with a new $5 to use. I got a $1/4 on yogurt a week or so ago....

since it's the same percentage no matter how much you buy, the 2/10 would be best if you have the Q, provided you can come in right at $10

Just so know you can only use one per shopping trip-the second one will ring up -.01 and then if you read the coupon it says one coupon per customer. so unless you have a cashier that will override you can only use one at a time. HTH

Tried for the ON cat on some clearanced pork, was hoping that it would print on the "pre 50% off" price, but no such luck, and because I used the ON q, i came up $.43 cents short of $10 :(

I'm in WA ... Found them in the basket under the posted ad, where they keep the extra circulars. Yes, they may have been leftover from a weekend demo.

I haven't tested the new ones yet. The old ones that Exp. 3/31/12 only took off $.01 and the cashier then had to input it manually to take off $1..
That's where I found mine, samples of ON entrees were being given out along with coupons.

I found piles of them at the customer service desk (at 155th and Aurora store in Shoreline WA if anybody is local.) The coupon specifically excludes fluid milk - which is probably why the coupon will not work on the Greek yogurt - but the Greek yogurt is pictured on the coupon. I used it on the Greek yogurt and the cashier was puzzled by the fact that it wouldn't work and manually entered the price for me.

I think only the 2 Cokes you are paying for will count towards your $75 total. It's possible, though, if you are short of $75 by the price of the crackers and your cat doesn't print, a nice customer service rep might be willing to give you a $10 credit.

the gift card deal has not worked for at least the last 2-3 times this promo is out and yes you have to spend 75 AFTER ALL Randalls coupons, so 80 with the rb coupon and don't deduct the randalls in ad coupons, the open nature etc or else you will miss out on your cat, happened to me by miscalculating once so just make sure you keep tally

l stopped counting my yogurt because it caused the coupon to beep once, so I would say yes yogurt is fluid dairy and unless you want I fight at your store, exclude it from your total

Looks to me as if the coupon is $0.50/2 so you can only use 1 coupon wyb 2 + 2 free since Safeway doesn't allow you to use coupons on free items.

Went to the new Hawthorne and 28th Safeway, pretty nice. They got grand opening type specials going on and there's lots of peelies/hangtags compared to what I usually see from other Safeway stores. Pretty good selection of frozen food including Sara Lee slices, the 3 Digiorno dipping strips and the elusive one with cinnamon sticks.

Pretty bad experience with using the $.99 8oz POM raincheck (they actually had stock). It was a pretty epic struggle convincing them to take the $1/1 Qs (expire 3/31) because of the $.01 overage and being misinformed of their coupon policy. I'm gonna avoid that store at night.

I had to to get a refund as well for the Klondike/Breyers eQs. This store gave me $1.70 (not $2.00) and $.50 (not $3) for the eQs. So I'd avoid it unless you want to go through the motions and have a printout/proof (this was at least painless with a printout, had to wait forever though at CS). From the receipt, it looks like it subtracted the Card Savings from the value of the eQ, i.e. Breyers Reg Price $5.99 - $2.50 Card Savings = $3.49 Club Price - $.70 Store Coupon = $2.79, so $3 eQ - $2.50 Card Savings = $.50 <> The math works the same for the Klondike.

Well, I tried poblanos and couple avocados ($5 worth) and didnt get the $3 produce to come off. Maybe you have a jfu offer for bananas and it is acting strangely this week. :confused: Needed them anyways and poblanos are cheaper here than sprouts for some reason and found a frozen cat in the parking lot. :)

My mantra has been... do NOT leave the store without $5 if I buy $10 in frozen foods. I even told a manager that if they would not give me the cat, to refund my transaction and return my coupons to me. As far as I understood from what others have posted, the Stouffer's cat offer is attached to some cards only. If you're not one of the lucky ones (I am not :( ), you will not get the Stouffer's cat no matter how many and what kinds you buy:hug:. Of course, that doesn't explain why your FF cat didn't print 2 out of 3 times.

NONE of the K-cups were tagged in my store, so I am not sure exactly which ones are included. The ad says "Green Mountain" but pictures both Green Mountain and Tully's, and then says it excludes Starbucks, Folgers, and Safeway Select. I did have the Cafe Escapes price checked since I had the printable for that, and they are indeed included. Which makes me wonder if the Caribou is included as well? If anyone can confirm that, I will be making another trip tonight!

Tried the Swiffer deal. There's a buy the starter kit, get the refill free (up to $9). The refills are on sale for $5.99 as a part of the B2Save$3 each promo. I should have walked out paying around $20, but totaled $40--and I can't figure out the stupid receipt!!!! I only bought Swiffer and 2 Reynolds foil.

The Qs required help at self check out for price, but I saw on other sites that there was some for who it sailed right through.

I really hate these stupid receipts. Its going to take some time to figure out what went wrong (I think the sale prices didn't ring up on the WetJet refills, even though it was advertised in the promo), and the Qs didn't all attach to the correct Swiffer products. There's a total on the receipt that I paid, but it doesn't show what was tax and the subtotal (and Swiffer is very taxable in my state). I'm planning on calling corp to complain--this crap has gone on for way too long with these "new" receipts.

Looks like Safeway's FB had a customer post from 2010 and they responded: "Our Scan Price Guarantee changed as of 6/01/2010. Thanks for the heads up that these were ringing up wrong. We got 2 today (they were marked 5.00 with a 5 oyno when you spend 10) they rang up 5.50 and we didn't get the OYNO. So we took it to the service desk and ended up getting our dollar, our OYNO and a 5.00 gc. There's actually a little sticker right on the desk that says "If our price is wrong we will sell the item to you at advertised price, plus give you a 5.00 Safeway GC. So I guess technically I could have argued for 2, but it wasn't worth it. Thanks for your post though, cause without it we probably never would have noticed they didn't ring up properly.

I think officially the FF was over yesterday, 3/31. Historically, March has been frozen food month. As several folks have mentioned, some of the tags show a 4/3 date. After arguing with 3 ppl, finally got $5 GC which we used. First CSR argued it was one per day and it says it on coupon and on their website. o/c I argue it should say it on the ad. And we had gotten it twice yesterday, so it clearly wasn't one per member. She considered it a glitch that I got more than I should have. Looked for freezer tags and they all seemed to be taken down.

Found the ASM and he referred us to first CSR. She told him it was one per member and we got more than one yesterday so he said sorry. So I asked why we should be required to know what it says on website. I also asked to see one of the coupons to see if it said one per member.

Then another guy, seemed to be the CSM or something with current ad, but it's not in ad so I found one from 3/21 in the car. Besides we argued that if it had been one per member, we'd have just put it on my mom's card (we did it all on my card to max gas rewards). Finally he decided 3 * $2.79 < $10, even though it was based on $3.49 on earlier tx. Still he said couldn't do it, and when we asked for corp ph #, he finally came back after asking a mgr and said they would give $5 GC.

BTW, I had 82 pts last night and only 6 now. I know pts carry over to next month but do you need a full 100 for it to carry over?

Anybody try the McCormick on the B2G1 free spices? Can't go until tomorrow and need bay leaves with are part of the bogo sale. Hate that dreaded -.01 when a SQ scans cuz you can never tell how it all shakes out half the time

SQ deducts 2x$2 on the B2G1 spices, no beeps or -.01 staff.

Best deal possible would be buying 12, I think. Note that missusg used B1G1 free coupons, and not B2G1coupons in her example. It's the right idea though.

If you can't get 12 due to lack of Qs, the next best option is 5 or 8 (as by price/bar).

EDIT: But in all fairness, I think a cashier would have to be a rockstar to know (on the fly at checkout) buying 12 candy bars during a B2G2 sale and using (2) B2G1 and (2) $0.50/2 Qs works out. You'll want a friendly cashier, I think. It's probably 2 steps away from being considered trolling if you purposefully did this at a coupon nazi lane..or a bit masochistic.
