ummm, So we can just find old freebies that still work (from the forums- ones that are 6+ months old) and repost them? they won't get merged right? but.. that... would allow the poster to basically COPY and won't be the OP...

erm...

We can post freebies that are 6 month old or older and repost them right?

If it is intentional, it is not allowed. We have already had people doing this and it becomes obvious what they are doing.

The regulars will look at you funny if you do it intentionally.

Are they blatant reposts of prior posts?

Doubtful.

Doubtful.

I disagree. Oftentimes she reposts offers just days after the 6-month cut-off. That seems pretty intentional to me.

But at this time, it's not breaking the rules.

 What is the current policy re: reposts in freebies? I had one of my posts merged into a "master thread" one of Selma's which was also on this same "master thread" was not merged. Now it seems if the thread is over six months but the link still works we are supposed to bump and not repost. I am getting confused.

:iagree: Also, I thought that the mods weren't going to encourage the "Master" or "Official" threads anymore......?

:iagree:

Random example for today:

#1 - http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=129897&t=241222

#2 (6 months later) - http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=129897&t=348284

Is this what we are supposed to do? .. yet I unintentionally reposted something today that happens to be 6 months old and it was merged. It makes me realize that I am obviously confused about the repost rules.

Can we have a Mod post what the new rules are (I've read in another thread that they have changed).

Good point , question & request Eyesparkle! Also I don't mean to be inflammatory or anything, but the rules should be the same for everyone.

random.

It's been merged now. I don't frequent the freebies section, but I do think someone writing out the rules would be a good idea.

The 6 month rule is still in effect. We arn't going to count the exact # of days and there will be some moderator discretion involved.
