It would be fantastic if an external popup window could monitor the Hot Deals section or even the Hot Topics section. For example, Southwest Airlines has the Ding downloadable notification program which provides notice of new deals on flights. A similar program that could monitor the Hot Deals would be very useful. Another nice option might be to add a Slickdeals section to the customized Google homepage. I doubt that is possible (I don't think Google would allow it) but it would be nice to not have to keep the SD site open to find deals. Thanks.

I used to think this would be a great idea. Then the Hot Deals section got overflooded with so many sort of kind of almost a good deal posts that it's barely readable anymore.

Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, you could just run any RSS reader and set it up for the RSS feed(s) from the forum(s) you're interested in.

I can't figure it out, but I know it can be done through Google Desktop

I mean, I'd like to just get notified of the major deals...not every deal from the hot section. You know what I mean: front page stuff. That would be super easy.

There's an RSS feed for the front page as well.
