The google cache also shows it as the same sears item number. You will get whatever the item number refers to in the system. If it was originally for the hard drive, that is what you will get.

'Usually Seagate makes a good hard drive this one as well as the .5tb model is a disaster. When I buy an external hard drive I expect it to mount with no problem. This one has preinstalled software that forces the customer to register the product and also forces the customer to load unnecessary trial software. When I filled out the registration and went next it went trial software load and then a loop and would not release the drive for use. I had to partition and reformat the drive to get it to work and during all the process another drive was unformatted causing a loss of hundreds of hours of work.

I only tried Qty 25 thinking this had to be a mistake and I'd get drives. should have tried 50, oh well.

Last time I ordered some digital TV tuner thing from Sears though (description and email confirmation showed this) they sent me earbuds, which I ended up getting 20 pairs of for free after Amex dispute.

So I honestly think the people on chat don't really know.

But yeah worst thing that happens is I get shipped the drives, call Amex immediately and entire transaction is put on hold while Sears decides what to do.

Sears doesn't take orders more than 5 seriously. They will most likely cancel all of these orders that is if the deal is legit.

It appears to be a very capable advanced superzoom (26X optical) with manual PASM modes, and generally on the spot exposure/color tone. No panorama assistant, HHT, HDR, GPS, but a solid offering. An interesting companion to DSLR shooters without the bulk, not a low-light camera of course (S95, NEX3/5).

really, you think a large order arouses suspicion at a place like sears.com?

The only thing they would have triggers on is just total quantity, so whether it was one person buying 1000 or 1000 people buying 1, the quantity they sell is the only thing they would care about a trigger on. That and a large $ order, probably in the vicinity of >$10k but even that is probably not too uncommon for them since they sell large appliances.

I am assuming you may have just been at a cut off period whereby it said it was in stock and several people checked out at the same time (submit) and they simply had to review stock and recognize that qty 3 can't go to 4 people

however a seagate hd is about 2 lbs shipping weight * 30 = 60 lbs

Update from me is:
I have 30 USB Hds sitting in my foyer taking up space while I wait to hear back from Amex on how they are handling. At this point sears doesn't give a shit b/c they've made a $3k sale.

So I am waiting to see how Amex handles these types of things. My only concern is timing now. I don't want the return period to end and then Amex saying i should return it, but then have sears not accept it and Amex not having any say. Sure, amex offers their own protection for returns, but this isn't a $50 return, so it will be under scrutiny and I am sure ill end up having to fork over a bill for the shipping if it came to that.

I'm holding my ground and waiting a little more to see how Amex responds. I sent them copies of the checkout, order confirmation, item description as well as the live chat confirmation.

Sooo, I'm giving up on the good fight.

I talked with amex and they basically said that they would likely reimburse me for the charge, based on the guy I talked to's opinion, but he said that my possession/keeping of the items at that point would essentially be illegal and that sears would have every right to go after me to get it.

so ive given up. I tried to return it friday on the supposed 3rd and final pick up, but the UPS guy said he forgot the label and couldnt give me a receipt. I Was like, hell no I'm not handing this to you in hopes you wont just take it and run with it... so had to reschedule it to be picked up a different day

so only got $5 credit after all this. definitely not worth my time and won't be falling for this trap next time. live and learn, no risk no gain.
