I think we can better utilize the calender if we were able to put things like:

one day only deals (such as freebies where the item is available for one day only, put on calender the day of the deal or the day before the deal)

deals that start in the future but are posted now (put on the calender the day they start or the day before they start)

expiration on deals or contests (put on calender the day they end or the day before they end) etc.

This is all I can think of now. Possibly it could be done so the thread will be bumped the day before, something like that. I am not a highly technical person so I am not quite sure how it would work. I would love to "hear" everybodies feedback on whether its a good idea and if it can be done.

Thank you everyone.

for the coding needed (pretty much all custom code) IMO its not worth the effort. the bumping/frontpage reminds people of anything that's especially good

Yes but some get lost in the shuffle that people would be interested in. I would even be willing to help with scut work (I am definetly not a techie)

You can search Google & see if there's one that you can create & customize, and be able to keep it updated. Then you can let a Mod know, and I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to sticky it.

I don't have the time, as of right now, to keep something like that updated.

hi

could this be added(i dunno how easy it is)
have a calendar for future

for example:

you add to calendar to send you a pm for next june 10 with msg for example: dont forget to call .... to cancel....

and site stores the msg until that next year when on that date it will send you your own msg

since lot of us frequent this place every day it be very useful since writing something down on a piece of paper and assume that it will be safe in a year isnt really a reliable way

thanx:)

If they do consider your idea, I have a feeling it might take awhile.

Until then, you can use your email account for reminders and other such things. There should be an option to receive notification by email when you add an event.

well i do feel it will help a lot of people
this came mostly from ordering mags via chase CC, and they will bill you for next year...unless you cancel within a year...

ya i use a calendar at school here, but it doesnt popup or anything, just says you have something... at the buttom, if im in a hurry i might not see

key for me i think is that its a msg and it will popup/open a new window, so even if you are busy you wont be able to get away from it!

Yahoo and I think Gmail both have services with their free email accounts where you can (like I said before) receive email notification.

The email reads something like "MESSAGE ALERT FROM [email provider] AT YOUR REQUEST" it is kinda of hard to miss.

Also if you have PDA or cell phone, you can do those things there too. Your electronic device will ring/beep/light up and you should not be able to miss it either.

Like I said before, these are things to do until your suggestion is implemented if considered.
