The press demo got the kohls q as well! I am on my way to kohls now. :whee:

LOL.. I too went to Kohl's today and actually bought somthing for ME!! I usually just buy the kids stuff, but today was all about me!! :P

I have never had any luck "combining" deals at Kohls, like coupon & Kohl's cash. Is it just my store or cashier?

When I went today, I was able to use a $10/$10 coupon (this was for signing up for on-line billing) AND I was also able to use my 30% off AND my $10/$20 in ONE transaction!!! :bounce:

AND the gal we had was sooooo great. My sister and I did 3 seperate transactions (all on my Kohl's card to get the 30% off) so what she did was somehow combine them all (AFTER I had already paid for everything) to be able to give me a $10 Kohl's cash!! :woot:

Got some great deals today!! I  Kohl's

You can buy the early edition of the SF Chron on Sat. It is technically the Sunday paper, so I think it costs more, but its gives you the Q's early if you needed them for a sale. I can usually find them at CVS.

Usually I use my Wholly Guacamole Q's at SuperWalmart, I know about a month or 2 ago it was $2.59 and I had $2.00 Q's. I saw it today at Target but they only had the larger size containers and they were over $5.00 :omg:

BTW tonight at Target I saw $1.00 off TQ peelies on the Emerald Nuts and they combine great with the $1.00 MQ's that were in the RP from about 3 weeks ago with the Purex Crystal's Q's on the front.

Had to buy a bunch of newspapers on Friday 3/25/11 for the Kohl's peelies.

Inside main section found 2-day Safeway ad with few sale items (not worth mentioning), and:

2-day only - Fri 3/25/11 - Sat 3/26/11
Spend $75.00 or more with your card in one transaction, get catalina $10.00 OYNSO.

I dont think they have hit our stores yet.I have searched and come up empty handed at many stores. If I can remember correctly most of the posters finding these were in Texas so they may have started rolling them out there first.

Hi Peeps!
I'm thinking of starting a new thread (scary territory I know!)
I'm interested in other states/regions and how they treat couponers.
Since I am only familar with NorCal the wiki would need to be maintains by all.
I'm thinking of breaking out:
By states, maybe major citys,
what stores are available | coupon policy | double (triples) | taxes pre or post q?

Thoughts? Comments? I wanted to get your opinions first...originally how this came about I am thinking of moving to another state and would want to captialize on my sd (couponing) ways! LOL

Do you guys think its a good idea? Would it be helpful to others?

Merc did not have Unilever or Axe Qs
did have bogo Clean/clear BW
and $1 Stayfree

Sacto-girl, I didn't want to look like ignored your post even tho have minimal thought. I think it would be massive to undertake all the chains and regions. And  that none are like WAGs where it depends on the cashier, which shift and phase of the moon.
Would be of interest to people moving or vacationing but that's usually single-time interest so getting people to maintain might be problematic (?

Once you move, you might also go off topic to ask who else is the area. I've found that some of the most valuable information comes from individual conversations conducted off line, plus you don't run the risk that the lurkers will rush in and snatch up the best stuff. :shake:

In my opinion., if there were enough interest here on SD - such a thread would have been created a long time ago. There is no unified coupon policy inside each state, more like it varies by chain, and further broken down by regions.

Do you know exactly where you will be moving to?

If you expect to have sufficient time to maintain such a thread - I'd start one specifically for your new home area and let someone else worry about the rest of US.

Using search by zip code on google, I'd first compile a list of all grocery and drug stores of interest to me, then start a thread titled ~~ "Local deals for <state, region or area description>".

We already have threads for some grocery chains outside of NorCal. If your new stores have such a thread on SD - you can create an index in Wiki with links to all existing relevant threads, then utilize your new master thread to discuss deals and coupon policy for all other stores and, like we do here in NorCal thread - socialize with local shoppers.

FYI - you can find "deals by state" sections on some other sites, which I shall not name here. :shake: Google is your friend if interested. :)

So, I'm addicted to Arrowhead Sparkling water... lots of choices... they're all good.

Raley's/NH/BelAir has a catalina for $1.50 OYNO WYB 5, 1 liter bottles. Good until 4/17, I think.
Good.

It's on sale this week for $0.79.
Better.

Then, I was looking through the RP that they got in Roseville at work today (not sure which paper this is--some early edition freebie, I think).

We are getting $1/2 MQs tomorrow!!!

Me = :)

SO, until Tuesday 3/29, it will look like this:
6 waters x 0.79 = $4.74 - 3 ($1/2) MQs = $1.74 OOP, get $1.50 CAT = 0.24 for 6 or 0.04 each!!!

Keep in mind, we have CRV of 0.10 each and sales tax, but STELLAR deal. The catalina DOES roll, but I have not tried to see if you can get multiple CATs in one tranny. Additionally, this sale is only until Tuesday, so we will only hope that some of the other stores will get this CAT and sale prices (Safeway???) and/or Raleys will have another price cut before the CAT ends.

I only hope there are some Q's to be had when they are released by the sellers... :S

*IF* we can do multiple CATs in one transaction, buying 10 at a time and using 5 MQs will yield a 0.10 profit on 10.

I have never had any luck "combining" deals at Kohls, like coupon & Kohl's cash. Is it just my store or cashier?
I wanted to wait to comment on this until I had my response from corporate. I went to Kohls yesterday with both of my Qs in hand (a $10 off a $20 purchase and a $10 off a $10 purchase). I picked out my stuff, and then went to checkout. The cashier (who I have gone to before and it always nice) refused to scan both Qs. She said they couldn't be used together and I said I didn't agree. She asked the other cashiers in a VERY loud voice (and rude tone) and they agreed with her. I asked for the manager, bc I knew I could do this, as I had done it before. She called for him, but he never came. Someone called and without seeing my Qs and only going on what she told him, he agreed with her. At this point the line was VERY long and I just wanted to get out of there, so I put some stuff back and only used the $10 off $10 Q. I said I would be calling CS, bc I have been able to do this in the past and she told me "they have been changing things."
I call CS and get someone oversees who doesn't listen to me. He kept reading the same line over and over again about only being able to use one discount code and a FS code together. I kept saying this was in store and why would there be a FS code, but he didn't listen. I even read him the small print on the Q (where it states the order that the Qs will be scanned in when using 2 discounts together) and he still wouldn't listen. I gave up with them and decided to email (using the FB email addy).
Fast forward to today. I have gotten apologies now from the corporate level and the local store manager via email. In both emails they said I should have been allowed to use both q's and they were very sorry to hear about my experience. I am keeping these emails with me and if I ever have another prob combining Qs, I will simply pull them up on my phone and let them see.
Anyways, I hope this helps clarify some of the confusion on whether you are able to combine these types of discounts.

If you just now found it, you might have the second version and I don't believe that one has the q's in there. If you have the one that says $42 worth of savings (or something like that), it will be on the last page of the booklet. HTH some

I found out the hard way that if CVS turns on ad, they hang all signs whether they apply or not.
I know you get the "best" deal but didn't think they'd hang signs if a deal hadn't kicked in yet.
PF had $7ecb on signs and they didn't print. Took freakin' forever
to find out and get it resolved. Finally decided OK to return the mascara and they charge me full price, then issue ecb manually.
I woudln't have tried if the signs weren't up and told them so. I couldnt finish my errands and still ended up home really late.
I guess I could've just returned mascara later or eaten the $1oop but only one PF IP left and printer in out of toner

The clerk I asked about the ecb asked another woman and she ticked me off. I asked her if they were going to take down the signs until the ECB actually prints and she sneered "no - that's how we do it".

SacGirl... for what it's worth here's my opinion about it.
I think it could be opening a big can of worms. I know in Tampa quite a lot of people have been pushing for a local Tampa Bay deals thread and it just couldn't get an OK. Tampa has a LOT of coupon shoppers to the point that I can't imagine another Metro area that has as many people doing this stuff as there. Also there are lots of clipping services in the Tampa area so it's obvious people are using Q's. Plus I think that the thread would be a huge huge undertaking and could get off track really easily with people complaining about local stores or blaming others for smash & grabbing their local stores (I've seen this happen before in other regional grocery store threads). If you are thinking of moving and wondering what the deals are like then I'd suggest finding out what stores are in your area there and make some buddies with people in the local grocery store threads, I've made so many valuable friendships from our PUBLIX thread including many real life friends too and that's just from the Southern States that PUBLIX is in.

Yes, I do wonder if this subject was to be a thread why wasn't it created later?....yes, it would be a large undertaking and it would be open for S&G for other regions and who in the end would get blamed? ..yup...OP.

I think I'm going hold off for now...and have no fear....I'm a long way from moving anytime soon,

back On Topic
Went to RA this morning picked up some gum, was not really interested in other deals, they had plenty of gum to be had. Don't forget to check the end caps - side bar (hanging candy cubby thingy)

Last night went to Wags, 3.99 (Monthly price) Purex crystal sign was up but rang up as $4.99, cashier price mod very easily, and spit out $2 RR - so w/$2 mq not a mm but works for me. (okay mm of 1c!) $2 RR ended yesterday.
Snicker eggs rang up as .29 but only had 4 of them. :sadwalk:

Great deal on Arrowhead sparkling water SavvySalukiGirl!! i am also addicted to them...funny though, not a big fan of their bottled plain water.

PS - If anyone is not using their sparkling water q, I would love to trade for them. TIA

It's a good idea, but I'd like to deal to last for me. I can only speak on my behalf. I don't know how many people here willing to share their techniques or store employees behavior when it comes to couponing. I for example, only go to targeted cashiers. I never enter a checkout line at randomn even though I know I violated no store coupon policy or terms of the coupon. The purpose is to stay under the radar and avoid the hoopla for the cashier and me. I take numerous factors into consideration before I use a certain cashier for checkout to avoid the pain if the targeted cashiers are not working.

If I post which store I use and the techniques I use for spotting cashiers or specific cashiers I use at certain stores, the deals will probably end. No doubts lurkers reside in my region will flock to the specific cashiers. This will increase scrutiny by the store manager once he/she notices the targeted cashiers have more coupons acceptance than normal during their shift than their colleagues.

(Of course keep your eye on your cashier since Raley's registers do the annoying adjust coupon to price of one item if it is a $$/2 to prevent overage. Just like Target's formerly annoying registers. Both of my cashiers--today and yesterday were pretty good when I pointed it out about giving me the other 0.21 per coupon).

Yes. Each item costs $0.79 and the coupon is for $1/2. The register automatically "thinks" that the coupon is $1/1 and changes the value to 0.79, which is the cost of one item. A human has to figure out that you should actually get the full $1 off, since it is for buying TWO items and there is NO overage involved.

Target used to do the same thing--until enough couponers complained they were losing out of coupon value... then, they discontinued whatever programming they were using that did that. Now, the computers are dumb and will allow overage unless the cashier adjusts it. ;)

CVS- somewhat iffy but I found out that the .25/2 CRT/snickers singles works on the Snicker creme eggs along with the $1/2mq.
Eggs are $1/2 this week.
If you prefer CVS overage to zillions of eggs @ WAGs (or can't find any)

WAGs- tried the Whitman's sampler about 5pm and it was fixed

RA-I have 10 bogo Stayfree qs. I guess I'll buy and donate unless someone local would like them. Exp 3/31 so don't think mailing is an option.

A couple things...
On the Raley's Website there's a printable E Coupon for the Newman's Own Pizza's making them $3.99 each, in yesterday's insert there's also a MQ for $1.00 off the Newman's Own Pizza's (Say's Thin & Crispy) not sure if they are included or not but IF they are that's a great price at $2.99 for Newman's Own Pizza's :woot:

Also hopefully on Wed I'll be able to get as many of the Arrowhead farms Q's as I want. I'm in Tahoe so if anyone in NorCal wants them I'd assume it would only take a couple days to get to you. I'm willing to send them out for some stamps. Just PM me if your interested

Clearance Bonanza!

My local Wags (Butte County) is clearing off 75% of all their toys. Lots to choose from yesterday... definitely won't last, I'm sure. I wonder if they're clearing space for summer seasonal stuff?

Then, I stopped into CVS this morning. The endcaps where the clearance usually lives were FULL of 90% off feminine care items, Nexxus hairbrushes, some allergy meds (all CVS store brand), 0.19 Tidy Cat litter (small bag, but 0.19!!--free if you have any Q's). I couldn't help myself! I got one or two of just about everything and had Q's to match. In the end, I paid ~$4 and saved nearly $70. I wonder if all the other CVS stores are clearing out the same departments? It's so hard to predict! Sometimes they do it all about the same time, other times, they are staggered quite a bit from store to store. Not only do I love Q'ing, but
I ADORE Q'ing with clearance!!!

Ok this is kinda OT but I figured I'd throw it out there.
We have access to an almost unlimited amount of inserts per week and I was thinking of maybe starting a service for whole inserts (basically for NorCal people since our inserts are regional) anyways I think a flat rate would typically hold 30 to 40 Whole inserts and would charge a fee of 25c each so roughly for 40 complete inserts it would run $15.00 shipped. Is this anything anyone would be interested in? I know papers are really really expensive out here (we only pay .50c for a Sunday Tampa Tribune in Florida) and figured it might be good for me and other's if there's a need for whole inserts?
Feel free to PM me if anyone is interested or has feedback

There is a lady in Washington (I think) that does this. She charges $10 a week for 10 of each insert. So if there are 4 inserts in that weeks paper, you would get 40 inserts (10 of P&G, 10 of RP, 10 of SS, etc) for $10 shipped. If there is only one insert, you still pay the $10 for 10 of that one insert. I used to get mine from her all the time until I found out that dollar tree only charges $1.00 for the paper

I am soooo jelous that you get an unlimited amount of inserts

At Nob Hill, the catalina had a notice the there will be a promotion for Buy 20 get 5 OYNO for Kraft starting 3/30 I think - not sure of dates...

*snip*

I got the cat announcement at Raley's today. It's valid from 3/30 - 4/5.

Here's the wording: Spend $20 or more on Kraft Foods products between 3/30/11 and 4/5/11 and SAVE $5.00 on a future order with coupon.

Normal small print: All items must be purchased in one shopping order. Limited to product in stock. Coupon printed at register. Limit one coupon per transaction. No cash back. Offer expires 4/5/11.

Interesting small print: Additional coupon will not print when the coupon is redeemed in the same transaction. <== WOW! I've always been able to "roll" grocery store cats.... hope this isn't going to become standard!

The picture includes most Kraft brands: Kraft, Wheat Thins, Oreo, Ritz, Capri Sun, OM, Premium (saltines), A1, Chips Ahoy!, Crystal Light, Jell-o, Triscuit, Yuban, Planters, Bulls-eye, Maxwell House.

Grabbed 4. There's no special tag on the shelf. It just says 2/$5 as if that's the regular price, but the cashier said it's a sale price. Nothing on the receipt says its a sale price either, so it's not clear to me???

Hi Sac Folk,
I saw that Nutella is going to be $1.99 (maxi 4) this coming Sat. and Sun. only at Nugget and we got $1 Q in this week RP, so $.99 is a super great deal.

Tonight when I was at Raley's I saw a couple good Tearpad Q's.
One was infront of the Milk Case and was $1.00 off any MILK (any size or type no restriction) good thru Jan 2012 :shocking:
The other Q was for a free Tribe Origin's Hummus wyb 2 Pretzel Chips (and there were BOGO printable's for those chips on their facebook page.) So worst case scenario would be 2 Pretzel Chips and 1 Hummus for $3.89 (1 BOGO Pretzel Chip Q and 1 free hummus wyb 2 Q). I think it would be ymmv on trying to use the $2.00 Tribe Hummus Q also since it would be on the free item.

Whoa, can I dream of a Milk Q TP?

Re: Inserts... depending on the papers they are from, I might be in the market on a regular basis. The Sac Bee around here has the best inserts in relation to my other local paper options. I hate missing out on Q's. Could ask some friends, too, to make shipping to one addy worth it. I wouldn't normally need 40, probably more like 10-20 at most, but if I could set something up, it might be mutually beneficial? :)

I know! We only got a few Q's at the Raley's at the Y (in South Lake) and went to the other Raley's and they had -0-. I'm hoping they are just getting put out now. The exp date of Jan 2012 is ridiculous! It wasn't brand specific but more of a "Get Nutritious and Drink Milk" kinda theme so I'm also hoping our local Safeway might get them

As far as the inserts go it would work out to 30 to 40 total making about 15 or 20 of each one. Typically are inserts are the same as the Bee but sometimes it can vary. Yesterday we also dug thru the regional recycle bin and found a couple 10/20 Kohl's Q's (on the Bee from Friday) a couple inserts from Reno that had a $10.00 off Chef Michaels Q and San Fran Chronicles and Sac Bee's. This is a different recycle bin then where we get our local papers. I'm just brainstorming about it now so we'll see wlhat developes in the next couple weeks.

Same deal going on at Savemart also :)

I would be interested, but in a lower quantity-maybe 3-5 inserts at the most a week. Could you look at the cost for a flat rate envelope size also? It's only me and my DH so don't need that many coupons.
While I am central california my ads follow Southern California ads. Also much to my annoyance while they get their ads we don't double coupons!

I went to print it today and it has to be USED by 03/31 :( what a crappy promotion  Was hoping to have a few months to use it. I was quoting the Flat Rate Envelope which is right under $5.00 for shipping. I have a feeling the cost for shipping on 5 inserts would be as much as the Flat Rate.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before or not and we are at the end of the exp date on the Free Veggie Patch Q but I thought I'd still share it.
Raley's (supposedly chain wide) are carrying the Veggie Patch Item's in the freezer case underneath of the Morningstar products. They had the Corn Dogs, Broccoli Bites, Falafel, Meatless Meat Balls! I personally really like the Broccoli Cheese Bites and the Falafel plus the corn dogs are :yummy: too!
The Q expires in 2 days so it's almost over but of course there's lots of stocking up that could be done in 2 days also :whee:

hmmmm my parents have mailed me months worth of inserts before-probably 10-12 inserts and I think the postage was around $2-$3. Or for me that might be the better solution a 3-5 of each insert each week and mail to me every 3 weeks? Just a thought, but that might be too inconvenient for you.
I have crappy inserts in my area and the newspapers cost $2 so not worth it!

We are doing storage auctions later this week so I'm thinking either this weekend or the beginning of next week I'm going to try to work out a plan. I've never bought inserts before that weren't in a flat rate so I have no clue how much shipping would be for just a few not going priority.

Me = :)

I wondered if the same deal might be going @ SW where it's .89 this week
I would doubt it b/c I found 3(!!) SW CATs for a free bottle

I'm not sure where you're located but if you have a Fry's nearby then I'd probably go with one of their cheapies.
They have an Acer 15.6 inch for under $300.00 this week and it's not a bad little basic machine. For that price also you could always sell it used and make your $$ back or more.
I bought my mom a cheapie Acer 2 years ago and that's what the other half uses also. We've had little issues with them and they are a great basic machine for the cost. I personally use a top of the line MacBook Pro that I wouldn't trade for all the windows machines in the world but for typical PC users I think the cheapies are the way to go.

Extreme Couponing doesn't just focus on Double Coupons although I think most of the people on the show had Kroger's and Safeways that did double. It's about people getting stuf for super cheap in huge quantity. Supposedly one of the ladies on the show was doing Rite Aid so I'm wondering if that's why she was on there. I do better in Florida than any of the People on Extreme Couponer's does and my local PUBLIX's don't double down there. Unless it's RA then I don't see how any NorCal stores would qualify to do orders at for the show because by most couponing standards the deals really suck out here. In Florida it's typical for me to get a $300.00 order down to $2.00 without double coupons so I can't imagine any chain out here compares to that.

That's Publix, I hear?

One of the KCL's lives in NorCal now, so no doubles for her, either.

Publix is the BEST for a lot of reason's! There everyday prices are pretty high but they do BOGO deals and in Florida (since we don't have dbl Q's) we have true BOGO meaning 1 item is full price and the second it -0-... if you have a matching MQ BOGO then you get 2 items for free :omg:
They also take competitor Q's meaning Target grocery Q's.... Albertson's.... Winn Dixie.... sometimes even PetSmart for pet food items. It's an awesome awesome set up! I even get meat down there with the Albertson's Buy 1 Get 2 Meat Coupons for almost nothing at PUBLIX.

I was in Lucky yesterday and they have the signs up for Arrowhead CAT deal
price tag .89 to 01-02
no on in CS so asked SCO clerk. He thinks they're old tags but reg price .99 so still worth it for me. Summer supply!
found Qs on fleabay- est. shipping date 4/11-17:pray:
since they're in WA, should be pretty quick
So, I'm addicted to Arrowhead Sparkling water... lots of choices... they're all good.

Raley's/NH/BelAir has a catalina for $1.50 OYNO WYB 5, 1 liter bottles. Good until 4/17, I think.
Good.

It's on sale this week for $0.79.
Better.

Then, I was looking through the RP that they got in Roseville at work today (not sure which paper this is--some early edition freebie, I think).

We are getting $1/2 MQs tomorrow!!!

Me = :)

*IF* we can do multiple CATs in one transaction, buying 10 at a time and using 5 MQs will yield a 0.10 profit on 10.
glad you joined us ReeCh :bounce:

It was seriously a 2 minute interview with one of the people from the TLC show :( Oh well.

But I must say I am soooo envious of you that you can do that down in FL. There is absolutely no way to do that here in CA. I did go to Savemart today and total was $56.xx before coupons, $21.xx after and got a $2 cat. But that is no where near buying $300 for $2.00 :( We just have to work with what we have (which is nothing)

I actually do OK at Grocery Outlet and at our Target's with Fresh Grocery but it's nothing like what I can do down there. Safeway sucks out here... it might be better with doubles but otherwise it blows.

Okay, this might be too late for some, but thought I would throw it out there anyway :)

SaveMart (and probably Lucky) has a deal going on right now, spend $15 in unilever products and get $5 off INSTANTLY. The axe body wash is $4.27. I bought 4 for $13.xx (after $5 savings and including tax) used 2 BOGO free axe coupons AND 2 $1/1 axe printable coupon (unilver sight) and paid approx. $3.50 for four of the AXE body wash :) Not a bad deal really. I have not seen any good AXE deals lately to use the BOGO.

Also the 8pack of aquafresh water is $2.50 I bought two and used 2 $1/1 printable (sorry, forgot where I got it from) and got back a $2 CAT. Not a bad deal there either. Sale ends today. Sorry did not post sooner, just went there yesterday

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Going to be beautiful here in Northern California today

went to Lucky too, thinking about getting a bunch of Crystal light (part of b20g5CAT deal ends today)
Nothing was signed for the promo so I skipped it. The ad showed several brands and about 8 items. I couldn't tell what qualified and didn't want to deal with the CAT that didn't print at 7am

RA ad has Nasalcrom. If anyone spots it in norcal, PLMK. I don't even see shelf tag.
Not a stellar deal unless you need it. I thought it was discontinued - found it clearanced several places. . Have 15Up exp this week and planned to get this with my scruci's. Getting nervous.

I'm out of dill pickles- if anyone spots a deal I'd appreciate it.

The new ads didn't do anything for me. Lucky has a game/contest. Buy certain items and get a game piece. Says some have coupons.
Lucky and Smart/Final advertised b6 Lean Cuisine get free Skinny Cow. Only S&F listed LC price - 1.99 ea

So, working on the Arrowhead deal and stocking my pantry.

It's SO interesting (frustrating!!) and always a surprise as to how each cashier handles the Q's. This is NOT rocket science, folks. I buy 2 waters and get $1 off... Raley's registers are a PITA! One cashier yesterday even suggested the coupon was automatically adjusting down somehow due to the CRV? But he couldn't explain why and I was really confused as to how anyone would think that? NO SENSE. I just kept repeating myself that I knew I had to pay sales tax and CRV, but the coupons were adjusted due to a computer glitch. No such luck! He got frustrated after a few minutes and FINALLY put them through at a $1. But they really make you feel like crooks sometimes when all you want is what the coupon face value is for!!!

And at Wags, some young guy cashier argued and argued that I couldn't use more than one Purex Q in ONE transaction. Made me get my limit of 3 in 3 transactions (which meant my item numbers were off and I couldn't use a $4 RR). "Well, it's good for another week." SERIOUSLY. That was helpful. :( I called the manager on his behind, explained the situation and asked for him to educate that cashier. When the manager went over to chat, I heard him saying to the cashier, "did you TRY scanning the coupons?" I retorted, "He didn't even TRY." He was just another person who totally doesn't get coupons and likes to lay down the "law" (AKA self-interpreted coupon rules) in front of a long line of patrons. Kinda snotty on my part, but I WAS SO FRUSTRATED that he put on such a show. One young girl in line also said Kmart imposed the same rules. Which is exactly why I don't shop at Kmart. Every day the rules change and no one understands Q's there!!! *sigh*

And TONS of people want to coupon with this new show? Some days, I almost feel like it is not worth it myself, but when I get the deals to work and a happy, smiling cashier... it quickly turns me around again!

I believe the Arrowhead coupons are coded for $1 off one even though they say $1 off 2 , that might be why the registers are giving you problems.

Hmmmm... I dunno about that in particular, but I do know that if the Q's are anything $$/2 or $$/3, etc., the computers automatically adjust down to the price of ONE item. Same thing at FoodMaxx and the way it was at Target until enough people complained that they were being cheated. I am not sure if the system is that way intentionally, to recoup overage and not allow it or if it is just a stupid machine thing. I do know about this and try to warn/explain the cashiers. Some are great about it, but yesterday, I got two difficult trannys (for different reasons) at 2 different stores. C'est la vie!

just about to post this:bounce:
so how did it work last time there were 2 freebies with a $20 purchase?

At NH with other SQs the $20 min had to be after all SQs applied. So if the value of the dessert is 2.50 & the padrinos/soda is $4 , total over $26.50 and they will both come off?

In SCO I'd get it to $20, scan a freebie, use the Q then scan the other freebie and scan that Q

Got a RC last week for that great sourdough so may have to do reg. checkstand

I got a couple weird CATs today at Raley's. I bought the 12 count precious colby/jack cheese sticks (that is ALL I bought) and I got a CAT for Save $1.00 off your next produce department purchase of $7.00 or more AND I also got a CAT for save $1.00 off your next breakfast cereals purchase (does NOT say Raley's brand, just says breakfast cereal) Both expires 04/20/11. This was at SCO.

Has anyone else ever gotten some weird CATs like that?!? I wonder if it would print them again if I bought more cheese  and if this is only at the SCO?!?

Not sure if it is there anymore, but it was on coupons .com. I read and re-read the coupon when I was at SaveMart the other day and yes, it was on 8 packs with fluoride or the 8pack aquapod and some other kind (don't remember). I just checked coupons . com and don't see it there anymore :( I printed it a week or so ago.

Has anyone done the COKE deal at Raley's?! Buy 2 get 2 free?? I plan on doing that tomorrow with my FREE coke coupons (my coke rewards) and in the ad it says single item $5.99 but when I went in yesterday it says $6.19  (really, who would pay that ) anyway, I know it is only .20 but my coupons only go up to $4.99 (who would even pay that much ) I just want to make sure before I go in. I can always show them the ad, just a pain in the rear when the prices are different :(

Also, my frugal adventures posted that Similac is $4.99 at Raleys (liquid I am assuming) has anyone seen the prices at Raley's for this? I was planning on getting the 4 cokes and two of the formulas (friend just had baby) to get up to my $20 to get my free stuff :) so it should end up costing me $4.xx + tax + crv. Now if the CRV is included towards my $20 then I would only need to buy one formula to get to $20. Does anyone know if CRV is counted?!

Sorry so many questions. TIA

TY for arrowhead price!
I looked at their delivery serv. price earlier (Pleasanton price- as close as I can get to here) and was pleased to see same price as Lucky.
Nice filler for freebies :)
Another one is Rice Krispies. The front page shows Cocoa Krispies but Rice Krispies were same price - 2/$4. I found peelies @ SW for free pkg. of M&Ms wyb 2 of either Krispies. And $1/2IP (http://www2.kelloggs.com/Coupon.aspx)*
I'm not sure how they'll work thogether tho.
M&Ms are about 3.79 - 7.79 toward $20 for $3AC

Sacto-girl: I tried using freebies as part of $20 before and it didn't work. Neither did taking off any SQs that took total under $20. If I did freebie Q 1st then other SQ, it would add freebie price back on.

So he ended up saying something like "I cannot do something the computer doesn't want to do, I'm sorry" and didn't want to take the coupon for $1 so I said fine, cancel the transaction, I don't want anything.

Oh my!
the cashier didn't know what to do with the coupon that rang at $.89 instead of $1 so called the supervisor that doesn't like me.
So he ended up saying something like "I cannot do something the computer doesn't want to do, I'm sorry" and didn't want to take the coupon for $1 so I said fine, cancel the transaction, I don't want anything.
This guy just drives me nuts, he always has something to say about my coupons.
Now I have to try another Raley's.
Oh well!!!

If you're having issues I suggest calling Raley's corporate and giving them the name of the person with the mis-informed information. I had a situation like that and they gladly called the store and spoke with the misinformed employee's to clear the situation up. Since calling corporate I've had -0- issues at a store that previously had a poor coupon understanding.

I'm going to write them for now and see what's going on.

Wags
one of my wags had SkinnyCow chocolate cones (4 pack) on clearance for 1.39.

Purchased 5x used 5 $1 mq (Safeway frozen booklet) - $1 x 5 (Wags April booklet) = better than free.

putting this out there in case your store had them on clearance as well.

Be careful, while looking at prices at other stores, exp dates were 6/10/10 :censord2: :yuk:

Today's adventure took me to 2 NH, cvs and Staples
Staples has FAR/iP printer paper (ends today)
nearby was non-SCO NH
- my scenario went out the window when I saw lovely tritip marked down so got meat , similac, freebie soda/chips and dessert
Free Qs took off $0.00. Clerk thought it was Similac being considered "dairy" but pushed all thru

Other NH did 2 trans in SCO with
10 Arrowheaed each
the Marzetti dressing that's has free Q was marked 3.99 in produce but scanned 3.69 (didn't get overage) and worked fine toward $20 min.

I couldn't find 2nd print of SQ when I was in NH #1 so wrote down the #s. Punched them in @ SCO with attendant's approval. Don't add the last # if you do this- just the 10 digits under the barcode.

The free dessert was at service counter in both stores. Asking for 2 in 2nd store got tricky - she tried to sell me on the BOGO desserts for 2 b/c 5.99/2 is better than 2 x 3.99.
Probably wont get those if you shop late after bakery closes.
Store #2 had Tiramisu :cloud9: - haven't tried it yet

CVS-
We got the Airwick deal
- Airwick Freshmatic Starter kit 6.17z looked nothing like the ad. It's the "farting robot" someone once mentioned. I hate these things. The sound they make is scary.
UPC <0>62338 79782<3>
and is in a box, same size as Lysol one
Wish I had more Lysol Qs!
PF IP went thru beepless (main thread said some stores aren't taking them)
Didn't try the Sun-Tues freebies. In the past, they don't turn on early.

My DH just got back from Raley's and he brought home some "extra" cats he found at the SCO:

FREE raley's eggs w/ any $5 purchase
$1 off any produce purchase of $4 or more
$1 off next bath tissue purchase (this is a store Q)
$2/4+ rolls of Scott Naturals Bath Tissue (this is an MQ)

Staples is having their HP/ink cartridge deal this week: Buy $50+ of HP ink and recycle ink cartridge the same day, get $5 per cartridge (instead of the regular $2/cartridge). Upto 10 cartridges can be recycled which would produce a $50 reward, making the ink "free after reward" if your ink prices are at/close to $50.

The best deal is to buy $75.00 in ink... purchase a 25 off 75 Q off e junkie or some other site (for like $2.00) and then submit for the Shell gas card rebate
http://www.biggestbook.com/dyn/rebates/content/hp_15offer_022511.pdf
You also will get 10% back in actual ink purchase rewards also making it at least another $5.00 or possibly $7.50 depending.

Watch for extra insert - in my delivered Merc for Toys "take time to play"
Includes a $1/3 HersheyKisses Q too

In NH found tearpad on aisle $1/2 Honest Tea (cvs deal tis week)

Found more No Nonsense peelies at Lucky but they expired 3-31. :sadbye: free socks @ RA

For years I'd go see the folks & as soon as I hit Silverado, it was like the madness of the city suddenly lifted. Didn't realize how un-relaxed I was until I felt the difference :)

hi everyone Beautiful Sunday!!
Went to Savemart this morning, and purchased Mission tortillas 99c, used $1 mq (ip a couple weeks back) auto deduct 99c instead of $1.
No purex crystals (reported on T thread that they give $1 cat, priced at $2.99)
They also have Precious string cheese on sale for $3.99 w/ $1 mq blinkie right in front of them.
The person checking in front of me did not want their game pieces but the cashier would not give them to me.

This game reminds of RA Game of Life, I'm getting flash backs, I even checked in the garbage can on the way out  sigh...I hated that game.

Raleys- Frank's hot sauce (small small bottle) is $1/2, use 50c mq from 3/13 SS = free
I think price is good until 4/26

I have a HUGE favor to ask of you ladies :)

I am looking for the $6/1 or $5/1 Nature MADE CoQ10 coupons that were in the February and April ALL YOU magazines. My neighbor uses this stuff and I have a RC on them for BOGO and this week there is a $10UP WYB $20. The ones they get are normally $39.99 so with the BOGO and the $10UP and the coupons and $3/$15 I can get them their vitamins for $5.00!! this would really help them out. I already used mine last week buying them for the neighbors. If anyone has these and are not going to be using them, please PM me!! I have pet food and baby q's I do not use that I can trade. I normally get 5-10 inserts a week so please let me know if there is anything you need/want.

TIA

Hi everyone! Very limited Q shopping time these days, so appreciate all the info in here! RA has been boring me lately.

Lucky's has the laughing cow and weight watchers brands cheese triangles on sale for $2.50 each which I think is the best price I've seen on these. Forgot to check when this sale ends, so post if you happen to check it out? I think there are $1/2 MQ's in the 4/3 SS?

Raley's:
Saw the Franks red hot sauce for $1/2 - will look for those Q's (thanks sacgirl!)

Found tearpad in front of Koolaid for $1/2 any powdered beverage and includes koolaid, crystal light, country time, and tang (expires 12/31/11)

Found teaprad for $1/2 any Kellogg's fruitsnacks on a display of Thor character fruit snacks (exp 7/10/11)

Found tearpad for $1 off store brand eggs wyb any two hungry jack premium hashbrown potatoes (funky looking new product with potatoes in a carton??) expires 12/31/11
*****************************************************************************************************************

I need HP ink so it sounds like the $75 worth is the way to go at Office Depot, but I should order online to get the $25 off $75, right?

Yeah, can't wait to see if they DO go on sale. My Q's are waiting.... !!!

A sale would be GREAT! However, I noticed at the SW nearest my house (a big one) that all of the Arrowhead waters are tagged as discontinued. I haven't checked other SWs yet. But if that is the case, then a sale seems unlikely. When I checked out, my Qs all came up as "no matching items" which was strange -- I'm assuming it's because the product's no longer in the system...

I'd love to get my hands on some of those Franks Q's but sadly I don't have them :sadwalk:
The best deal on the HP ink is at Staples this week .
Purchase $50.00 in HP ink and redeem empty carts on the same day and you'll get $5.00 per cartridge (up to 10 standard account and up to 20 premier). Also you can grab a 25 off 75 Q off e junkie or e bay for like $2.00 +/-. That 75.00 before Q amount should qualify you for the $15.00 Shell card Rebate.
So like this....
$75.00 in Ink...
Use $25 off $75 Q
= $50.00 OOP
Turn in 10 (or 20 if premier empty Ink) for $50.00 in rewards
get back $50.00 in Rewards plus 10% on ink purchase $5.00 total in rewards $55.00.
Also submit for the $15.00 Shell card rebate
Total OOP = +$5.00 in rewards + $15.00 in Shell Gas Card.
If you have a premier account then you'll be up an extra 10 carts you can run in making it a $55.00 MM in rewards.

Hope this makes sense.

Off to the Coach and Gucci outlet in Vacaville.
Found 8 of the bottles of Similac last night at Walmart and was thrilled.... also going to dump those at the Women's Shelter here local today

Sorry I haven't got back to you before... I've been out all day and we're just getting ready to head out to dinner now.

You need to sign up for their rewards program. It's similar to a store card like safeway and it's tied to your phone number. All you have to do is let them scan your card or give them your phone number when you make your purchase and redeem your ink to qualify. It takes like 10 seconds to sign up in store. Every month you can throw in 10 cartridges for typically $2.00 each and if you reach rewards status (over 1k in purchases a year) you can throw in 20 empty carts. I usually buy a large box of over 400 on ebay for about .25c a piece and then throw them in every month for my rewards. You will either get a rewards check in the mail to use for instore purchases or you can sign up for online account access and just print your rewards yourself. The great thing about them is that they can be combined with instore coupons so when you get the $50.00 reward check you can use it together with a 25 off 75 Staples Coupon (very cheap on E junkie or E bay) and get basically 75.00 worth of stuff for little or nothing.

I have friend who buy their bottled water every month from Staples with their rewards checks and a coupon. Every other month they buy $75.00 worth of water... give the 25 off 75 Q and then pay with 2 months worth of ink rewards and are typically out $5.00 for $75.00 in bottled water actually delivered to their home. It's a great deal.

Had a great time today... saw the small boxes of Beyond Cat food clearanced out at Petsmart for $1.25 a box. We bought all 20+ boxes with the free Q's (that are expiring) to donate.

Everyone at Folsom was really nice but their selection was a lot lot smaller than Vacaville.
Maybe when I come down for my gig at Intel at the end of the month I'll take another look.
We should meet up sometime :D

What are you going to be doing at Intel? (I'm just nosy today......ok, everyday!)

I did the staples ink/cartridge recycle/e-junkie Q/Shell rebate deal today. I'm hoping the shell rebate goes through even though my oop was less than $75 with the Q. Even if it doesn't, it was a heckuva deal on ink! Thanks for the scenario!

Oh, hidnprncss, I am so sorry you had a bad experience, specially at a high-end retailer. If it was me I would not let it go and demand at least an apology from them or I would call up their corp to complain or wrote on their facebook wall. Sorry, I was so mad for you

I'm a freelance consultant currently working on a new software/technology testing project.
It's just a part time thing that started last year but they gave me a couple weeks back and said they wanted to continue the project :D

=24.xx
-free dessert Q
-2 Athenos BOGO Qs
-4 peelies on Athenos hummus for greek yogurts
-2*2 silk Qs that I got by signing up for 10 week challenge on their website couple of days back. Detailed instructions here (http://printablecouponsanddeals.com/2011/04/2-off-any-one-silk-half-gallon-3.html) Don't know if it still works
-2 *.50 Qs for hot sauce from here (http://www.frenchs.com/index.php) Clicking on 'coupons' and signing up to get Qs

Got everything for even $6. Too bad the sale ends today. Got raincheck for Horizon as they ran out of those.

I feel so left out lately  We don't eat hummus or the greek yogurt so if anyone wants Q's for those (not even sure if they are in an insert) or if anyone wants me to print some Q's when they come up, just let me know and I will be more than happy to send them.

Made one last trip to Raley's and completely forgot about the Franks Hot Sauce :( Does anyone know if that is the regular or sale price? Went in and got 6 of the danimals drinkable yogurts for $1 each with $1/1 MQ. Guess it was a good thing I forgot about Frank's as I rode my bike to Raley's and had to carry all the drinks in my backpack :weight:

A sale would be GREAT! However, I noticed at the SW nearest my house (a big one) that all of the Arrowhead waters are tagged as discontinued. I haven't checked other SWs yet. But if that is the case, then a sale seems unlikely. When I checked out, my Qs all came up as "no matching items" which was strange -- I'm assuming it's because the product's no longer in the system...

Whoa. That's interesting. Will be sad if it's true here! WELL, I think the Raley's CAT ends this weekend, so I have some work to do....

on that page is " Not using Twitter? Sign up and Join the Conversation!" (this is link)
Signed up and got message I'd get email I'd need to confirm BUT was taken back to CVS deal and able to request free Q
Which I got, used forHonest Tea (got $2 credit :) )

today I tried to see if I could use 1 acct to request on 2nd CVS card
Didn't recognize my Twitter acct.

Ummm......I think the RA ad part was in reply to the other post not necessarily for you to look at for grocery deals...I think Thirfty was just asking which grocery stores are in your area. Based on what your choices are, we could offer our experiences on those stores. It wouldn't do you any good to hear about the great deals I get at Safeway, if you don't have a SW near you. KWIM?

Not that I am aware of :( it is hard for us in Northern Cal to get the good deals with food. Check out recycle bank, you can get coupons for $10/$50 at Savemart. I mostly shop Savemart and Raleys. A good blog to check out is my frugal adventures. She is based in Roseville and puts up the deals for Save Mart, Raley's Whole Foods, Nugget, etc. She also does Target and Walmart and does the coupon match ups. Also keep an eye on this thread as the Nor Cal ladies are always so helpful with deals they have found :)

Oh... and just to bit@$ a little LOL Went to McDonald's in my WM to get a LARGE soda and they were out of Large. Hoping I am just blind and not caffinated enough yet , but I have looked through the inserts twice

Most Target's have them on TPC priced anywhere from $1.34 to $1.77
We are going to have to really stock up on the Basmatti on our way home tomorrow.
I'm sad our trip is coming to an end :sadwalk:

 Hidnprncss!! My local Grocery Outlet had microwave Basmatti rice pouches for 2 for 99c. Might want to stop and check out one if you have one near you.

.....got ad for Fresh & Easy market...nice prices, says their own brand has "no HFCS, transfats added, artificial colors/flavors"

It takes awhile to get used to Fresh and Easy. I lived in SoCal when they launched and the best deals seemed to be on their fresh items. The stores were jammed when they first opened, but after awhile, they were often empty.

The stores are very small with an extremely limited selection of name-brand goods. No manufacturer coupons accepted. House-brand pricing is great if you are in an area that doesn't have WalMart food options.

Store brand items are often dirt-cheap and the quality is good. Bakery/fruit/veggie items go on massive clearance on the last days of "freshness". I always shopped the clearance racks and often got bread for 42 cents a loaf, cookies for 25 cents, or ready-to-microwave meals for 75 cents.

ETA: Another dude here, so it's not just ladies who peruse this forum.

YMMV

Went to a local Savemart store today to check out the Allegra 6 ct price - $6.99 so 1.99 with Sunday's $5 insert q.

But they also were clearing out their Lysol no-touch handsoap system thingy-magig. $3.00 per unit, so free after insert q (this past Sunday's) refills were only 1.97 each but I did not see any q on these.

If you did not get Sunday's paper, Lysol.com has a printable one, must register first.

I have a quick question. Are there only certain cartridges that gives you a return of $2.00? According to the rewards, it states "Earn $2 in Staples Rewards for every eligible cartridge you recycle". I ask this because when I returned my empty cartridge, I only got 10 cents credit for each. Thanks.

It just shows 10c on the receipt because that's how the system process's it. You should get the full amount on your rewards check though

YAY! I'm so excited because we got the $3.00 Nivea Q in our insert! :yahoo:
Finally we got home from a LONG day of shopping. For those of you who still have the Similac Q's they are on TPC at Target for $3.78 and the $5.00 Q is beepless... just thought I'd let you all know :D

Also at Target a bunch of different varieties of the Emerald's Nuts are on TPC for $3.50 each (mixed nut's, Almonds, Cocoa Almonds) so with the $1.00 TQ (peelie on the package) and the $1.00 MQ it brings them down to $1.50 a package :omg:

This post probably won't be useful for very many people, but it is so hard to get deals on gluten-free foods that I wanted to post it for those who can use it...

The Grocery Outlet in Antioch appears to have recently gotten a whole shipment of GF items. There's various mixes (bread, brownie, pizza dough, etc.) as well as a variety of cookies (chocolate chip, choc. chocolate chip, animal cookies) and biscotti. Brands are Arrowhead Mills, Ian's and Pamela's. Prices are incredibly low compared to what we usually pay ($1.49 baking mix!), and I have been stocking up! :bounce:
This appears to be unique to the Antioch location, as I go to 2 other GOs and haven't seen any of this there. Go figure.

Hope that helps some GF NorCal'ers!

Those of you who snagged the $2 Heinz ketchup coupon from their Facebook page yesterday can get a 40 oz. bottle for better than free at Safeway. There is a J4U coupon that makes it $1.79, good through 4/24. Limit of 2. I bought two bottles and the price shows as -.42 cents.:)

And heads up for anyone with the personalized strawberries price of $2.49 or lower (it is no longer available.) It works for the buy 1, get two free deal that ends today. I bought NINE POUNDS of strawberries for $2.97!!!!!

That almost makes up for the cashier accusing me of copying the ketchup coupons because they weren't printed in color. I had to get the manager to come up and deal with her.:shake:

Yeah, I did the Heinz deal as above, strawberries, and added on the 4 of the BOGO shredded Kraft since I had 2 of the $1/1 IPs for Touch of Philly kinds (and the personalized price of $1.90/1, which stacks, too). So, nearly free shopping trip yesterday. Also had a free Eating Right SW J4U Q for cereal. So glad the J4U Q's seem to be stabilizing, but I always take my printable list with me so I can fix things at CS if they don't!!

For some reasons the cheese ended up free for me -- I can't explain why. I bought two and used just one of the IP coupons, but I seemed to have extra J4U ecoupons come off that I wasn't aware of. Score on the cereal -- I didn't get that offer.

I missed out on the Heinz ketchup. But can you explain the strawberries deal? I see it at $2.49. If I buy one pound and get 2 pounds free, should it be 3# for $2.49? I don't see how you got 9# for $2.97.

Quick question on the Safeway JFU program. If I add a coupon to my card from JFU, can I also use a MQ on the same item?! I don't do SF too much and I feel like I may be missing out on some good deals. I just may start going once or twice a month (depending on the deals) TIA :)
