There are numerous 1-star reviews from today that complain about this app costing $5 even though it is supposed to be free. Hopefully, Amazon has worked out that bug.

I love Amazon's free deals as much as the next guy, but I'll be the first to point out that the controls for Pac Man are aweful. I have a Thunderbolt and have tried for five minutes to get used to it. Honestly, an SNES or Sega rom works better than this port.

Still, thanks Amazon for the free apps. Keep em coming. Yesterday's was awesome.

You can uninstall them. They stay in your Amazon account and can be reinstalled later.

I'm suprised that no one else has posted this since Plants vs. Aliens was free yesterday. The Amazon app store on android has the Pac Man game for free today in their app store. I'm now very glad I upgraded my phone using last week's Best Buy promo. It's pretty good and you can't beat free if you don't have this game on your phone.

Yep, solid deal as it says normally $5 and this is obviously a well known game. I dl'd Plants vs. Zombies yesterday, too.

It's not a bad game, looks quite like the original actually. I have a little difficulty with the controls, but that's not something that's new with the virtual D-pad. I've usually had difficulty with them on any game.

Amazon Appstore for Android has Pac-Man as their 'free paid app of the day'. It is normally $5.00.

Just be aware that all amazon apps for android phone home (to amazon) on every startup and you cannot use them offline because of that, they will refuse to run.

That is not true. I just ran a few of the programs I got through Amazon and I have 3G and Wifi disabled right now.

Any code to bypass it for offline gaming?

I thought only the main "Appstore" app runs on startup? At least that's what I see on my phone. Plants vs Zombies isn't running, but the Amazon Appstore app is.

Huh? It's running perfectly fine on my Epic 4G. Mine is rooted and has the SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.1 of course, but it should work on stock regardless.

Everytime I try to install it it says "Application not installed." I'm rooted as well, running Bonsai v4.1.1 and haven’t had any problems with other apps thus far. Under the description of the app on amazon it even says “The following devices are not supported: Samsung Epic 4G and HTC Desire HD.” Maybe you're just lucky.

The HTC Touch Pro 2 does not run android well at all. Maybe one day xdandroid will improve enough to be viable.

Performance-wise, Android runs excellent on the TP2, blows away WM 6.5 stock and custom roms, just battery life sucks and it will randomly reboot.
If they can fix those two issues then I'd run Android as my main OS on the TP2.
