I posted this in the "OT" thread in the lounge, and I think it's actually a pretty good idea if it can be done, so here it is again in a place that might get noticed:
OT posts are what make the lounge great!! how can you try to do away with them? I mean think about it, this is "the lounge". I've only been here a while, but it honestly does feel like a lounge, where people are in small groups having discussions, and a whole bunch of other people kind of meander around, overhearing conversations, and when they hear something interesting, they jump in and join the conversation. Every now and then some Norm guy will walk into the room and announce something like "my hamster this" or "celery that" and everybody will be like "NORM!!!" and the conversations continue.
we can't do away with that, or it won't be a lounge, it will be the Periodicals room in the library, and only old fogies (no offense ) will go and the lounge will be boring and dead
I have a better idea: sometimes off topic posts spawn generally interesting discussions, why don't you add a feature for "Spawn OT thread" where you can immediately create a new thread (with a link back to it's origin in the OP) and the ot discussion can continue there?
