I bought a Toshiba 320 GB drive to replace the hard drive in my Dell E1405 Inspiron. I used Acronis to clone the drive. After the clone, I put the 320 GB drive in the Inspiron and got an error. Upon checking the format of the 320 drive, it was RAW. I went to Windows Disk Manager, and the 320 GB drive shows up as 91.76GB. I am formatting the drive now and hope to attempt the clone again. What do I need to do to view my drive as 320 GB instead of 91.76GB (the size of my old hard drive)? I am running Windows XP.
Thanks!

What is the size and format of the source drive?

The source is showing up as 91.76GB NTFS. So it looks like when I cloned the old drive to the 320 drive, it made a partition on the 320 drive the same size as the old drive. Even after formatting the 320 drive, it shows up as 91.76GB on disk management.

Does it show unallocated space in the Disk Management?
O you're formatting now, so I guess you can't see that.

You may need to use more powerful commercial disk management software, like Acronis Disk Director to merge partitions.

After format, the 320GB drive is showing:
Free Space: 91.6 GB
Total Size: 91.7 GB

if you are using vista or 7 you can go in to disk management and resize the disk, otherwise you can do it in a linux live cd with gparted.

I am using XP. (Stated in OP.)
Looks like cloning my Dell Inspiron is the culprit. Check this out: http://www.goodells.net/dellrestore/
Dell notebooks hide Dell MediaDirect utility in HPA.
Solution to getting the drive back to it's original size (from Acronis)
To restore the drive to its original capacity you need to remove HPA on the target drive:
1. Download ISO image from http://www.hitachigst.com/ under Downloads & Utilities -> Feature Tool -> CD Image;
2. Burn the ISO image to a CD according to the rules described at http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm
3. Boot your computer from the created CD;
4. You will get the "Drive list" window after the boot process is finished. Select the necessary ("broken") hard drive from the list using your mouse or arrow keys;
5. Click on the "Features" menu or press Alt-F keys and select "Change Capacity";
6. You should see "Manufacturing values" and "Current values" on the appeared window;
7. Click "Options" and choose "Maximum Capacity" from the list. The appropriate value will be automatically entered in the "New Capacity" field;
8. Click OK.
The solution will not work with the drives connected via USB/FireWire interface. In this case, we suggest you to connect the drive directly to IDE/SATA port on the motherboard/storage controller or to take the drive to a service center with the request to restore the drive to factory default settings.
If you have an Inspiron that you are having problems upgrading the hard drive, you might want to read this:http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=973298&postcount=48 <----- I used it and it WORKS!
