What do you think about adding a feature that allows registered users of slickdeals to track which deals that they have executed on, and how much money they have saved by using slickdeals?

Hmm.. good point Matt.. but I think that will not be very easy to implement. I mean its not that hard too.. but its not a cake i assure that..

All you need to do is put a button by each slick deal. When a user clicks on the link it saves that item in a database next to that users name. Not that hard really for someone who is experienced in web development like the owner of slick deals is. Very easy to do using something like MySQL.

Then the users could click on a link that would list all deals he has acted on.

i know... but i am not sure if the database and everything is created and maintained by slickdeals..... coz i saw many exactly similar layout of websites.. so i think its maintaied by slickdeals but its made by someone else...... but I am really not sure.. Yes, its not that hard to implement. I myself work as Website programmer at "Center For Environmental Predication" here at New Jersey..

The company that makes this application is called Jelsoft Enterprises Limited...if you scroll to the bottom you can see what it says....you can also edit the application to add or delete what every feature you want....

The feature sounds cool but in reality how many people will actually use this feature? I don't trust most sites with my email address let alone purchase history. If there is demand for the feature, I can definately add it to the todo list.

The biggest hurdle I see is the integration with the forum software which is 3rd party developed. It's all fine and dandy hacking the software apart, but when vbulletin upgrades come out everything has to be re-hacked. Not exactly my idea of fun. I'd rather whip out my credit card and go shopping. :D

Understoond, I thought about these limitation before I posted the idea. I just wanted to put out all my suggestions no matter what the technical hurdles were. Maybe it will help stimulate some other ideas.

Since you already implemented one of my ideas I thought I'd push for another :-)
