View Full Version : Firefox users: get a new, darker look for Slickdeals.net

For those of you with firefox, you can download the CSS style manager extension called stylish, and then install my CSS for slickdeals.net. The style sort of inverts most of the colors you see on the main page, but not really, and relies heavily on black/gray/dark colors instead of whites/off-whites.

It was a major PITA because I knew nothing about CSS and html, to begin with. To make my work more difficult, whoever does the site's upkeep has some tables in the site's CSS, and some that are only in the HTML source. And then there was the issue of inverting/recoloring all of the images...boy. I learned a lot about some really nerdy stuff today, that's for sure!

Ouch.

Not the style, mind you. It's kind of nice. But ouch on the timing.

There's a new front page coming out? Oh well, if I can do this, I can probably do it for the new one, too. :) Maybe even carry over the style to that new forum look I read about.

as to features, i don't really remember most of them.... i think the forums just get a few minor appearance stuff.

I can't speak for the site, but it is likely that there will be a new color scheme because that is what we were shown last night (i.e. Slickfillers and the new layout we were shown had the same colors).

As for what is going to placed where on the webpage itself, your guess it as good as mine :biggrin2:
