I purchased 3 last time, I guess I lucked out and were 3 of the 5 non-defective ones!

They did make a note at the bottom of the page "Please note that we have manually tested each and every one of these charger to ensure that a) they power up, and b) they charge the iPhone as expected." so I think it's worth a shot. They must have done that after the backlash from last time. In 4 1 :)

they tested a thousand chargers? i doubt it. there are maybe 10 employees that work there. bunch of lying douchebags.

for sure, check the thread GSR posted, it was terrible.
not the first time. they did it with a jawbone too. long story short, they sent refurbs stating new, when complained, they sent refurbs in manufacturing packaging, claiming new. they weren't new. jawbones tell you when hooked up to a computer. completely shady.

the hiccup i had was that i ordered 3.. then only one was shipped to me. i had to contact them to get the other 2 sent to me. guess what? they shipped only one the second time. so i had to contact them AGAIN so get the third. they wasted a lot of money on shipping!
