Where does it show anything on their FB about an "upcoming" freebie?? It had a previous one and it's expired!

This is what I see when I click the facebook link.

It may not show if you haven't "liked" their page.

This may have been addressed in previous threads but I couldn't find the info;

It says that officially it is one pair of glasses per address - is that per code or forever?

Thanks

I believe it was brought up in past threads, but as far as I know, it was never answered for sure.

My guess would be that it is per code, but if it doesn't let you order again, maybe try making a new account or adding "Suite 1000" to the end of your address.

We've gotten three pair of glasses over the years from the CC free days. We've never changed our address or added anything to make it seem like a different address in their system, just to be fair and honest and allow them the chance to decline our order for a previous purchase. However they've filled our order each time. I even had to return my last pair to them and exchange for a different set of frames and they were just fine about it. YMMV.

I got some from them - you still pay shipping. Mine came out to about $9-10.00. They were a good deal, good glasses - the case and all is better than the other discount glasses services. I'd use them again. I like Zenni's selection better - they have more 'fun' type glasses. Coastal contacts, to me, has more conservative styles.

so...i just gotta make sure i'm up a 8 am wednesday and i get free glasses? i'm guessing their site gets hammered during this?

edit - i suppose i should have my glasses in my cart and ready to go, so i just enter the coupon code at checkout?

Thanks a lot for the clarification. So now to figure out if you can buy multiple pairs using the same coupon code (separate orders).

You probably don't have to get up early to get them. I've ordered mine in the evening and they didn't give away 10,000 pairs yet, but no guarantees.

Yeah it's great - they will just make glasses to your specifications, so you have to be accurate and do that pupil distance measurement accurately if it's not listed on your prescription. I measured twice because my scrip didn't list the distance, and I must've been off by 1 because everything swam just a bit when I turned my head. When I had to return the glasses for other reasons I thought... hmmm... maybe I'll just change the pupil distance by -1.0 mm, and when my new glasses came in they were perfect.

I've gotten the swarming feeling twice from ordering online. SO i have 2 useless pairs of glasses i wasted money on. The 2nd time it happened i had my actual pd listed on my prescription, so i don't know whats wrong with me when i order online.

How do I choose the size of frame. I measured my current frame, tried to search a frame using the parameters, they say 0 search found. Is there a better way to find the frame I need. I know the exact measurements I will not be able to find, but can I find something matches close to the measurements?

so...today i picked up my glassse i paid ...not $190, but $218 for after insurance, smh, and asked for my prescription when i got them.

it didn't have my pupil distance filled out, now i'm hesitant about ordering from these guys without knowing it.

btw, part of the reason my glasss cost as much as they did, i got crizal lenses. i've never had them before. supposedly they're the most scratch and dirt resistant kind, yada yada yada, but the best part is they drastically reduce glare.

i was just driving at night and noticed no glare...it's amazing. i also took a pic wearing them and there was no glare/reflection on them in the pic. it was worth the $80 charge for them.

Thanks OP, I just got a pair of prescription safety glasses for working in the yard for ~$21 including UV, scratch and anti-glare coatings. I could never justify paying for one pair at retail price for something I don't use that often. But at this price it's a no brainer.

I ordered twice with the free code and it worked like a charm!

I LOVE both pairs from Coastal. Previously I had been ordering from Zenni but will be hesitant to order again in the future. I have found the quality of Zenni to be bad, I have had lenses chip on the sides and the plastic colored finish on their frames flake off. I wear glasses daily and am pretty hard on them- I work with kids and they are always getting bumped and smacked. Zenni might be a nice option for someone who wears glasses occasionally.

But mostly replying just because of the badass One Piece quote. Eiichiro Oda was sick the past week so no new One Piece manga last week...but hopefully he's feeling better and we get some awesome new manga this week! Woo-hoo!

I always order my glasses from online sites like these... But this time I'm considering not paying the $9.99 bundle of the anti-scratch, UV and anti-glare. Am I being too crazy and cheap? Do you think with a cheap place like this, it would really make a difference?

Those Crizal lenses sound nice. Too bad they're expensive.

If you go to Coastal Contact's website and you have a webcam or a picture of you, you can supposedly measure your PD from there. If not, you can have someone measure the distance from pupil to pupil in millimeters.

I ordered last last week on a different code. The coating bundle then was $14.95, or $9.95 each. I didn't buy any coatings, but if I had to do it over I think I would have gotten the anti-glare. The anti-glare is said to make a difference mostly at night, and helps prevent eye fatigue when driving at night.

I googled all the coatings and learned that high index lenses naturally provide UV protection and are very hard which helps prevent scratching. Most of the articles I read said you only need the anit-glare coating which also is hard and further prevents scratching. Anyone wanting more info should do thier own googling.

Also, I see that many of the frames that were available last week for $38 are now $68 or more.

I wouldn't say they NEED a higher index because I think you can still buy the lower index lenses. However, your lenses will be much thicker if your prescription is high and you don't upgrade the lenses.

Thumbs up! I just got a nice pair of glasses from Warby Parker a few months ago, but for this price, I'll try a little variety.

By the by, I just added glare reduction coating to the frame I was debating and it offered me all 3 coatings for the price of 1, instead of 3 for the price of 2 as I had seen earlier...not sure if this changed at some point today or is on a frame by frame basis...

Came out to $77 for 1.67 index lenses. Close to what I paid Zenni 2 yrs ago..are there any deals for high index lens places? Both of the pairs I bought from Zenni were cheaply made and the frames broke. I don't want to spend $80 for another pair that is just going to break. I wear contacts all day and just want glasses for nights at home, so can't really justify spending too much.

Have you ever tried Costco? Their prices are decent (probably a little more than $77) and they will stand behind their products, so if they break you will get a refund.

Glad I missed the deal last week!

Looks like prices have dropped for some of the extras for the frames I'm interested in. Last week, for all 3 add-ons (scratch, uv, anti-reflect), the price was $19.95. Now it's only $9.95 for all 3. Also, poly carb lenses are $6.00 less at $18.00. However, I'll probably go for the 1.61 index. Although, there seems to be less of selection this time around.

Thanks.

Three days ago, when the deal was first posted, it was $14.95. I was glad to see it went down.
Incidentally, I had placed the glasses in my cart then but didn't buy them. They later sent me an e-mail with a free shipping coupon code to complete the transaction. Too bad the code don't combine. But that may be a good way to get free shipping for something that doesn't qualify (assuming you are not using another coupon).

i *just* received the free pair of glasses I ordered on July 22nd (what incredible shipping speed). I have to say that they are incredible for the price (around $7 shipping + $4 handling) and that I would jump on this deal again if they let me.

The finish and quality of the frame are much better than my three glasses from eyebuydirect and zennioptical. The packaging and included items are better as well. While the two other places included a thin plastic case and microfiber wipe, coastal contacts included a microfiber cinch bag, heavy duty case with a spring (similar to one that you would get from an optometrist), microfiber wipe, a screwdriver keychain, and a "nice" coastal contacts shipping box. The two other places shipped with a generic cardbox box/bubble wrap and only supplied cheap plastic cases.

Free shipping? Somebody gotta make some money. I think UPS deserves this fee and shipping materials.

You should be glad. Else, businesses going out of business and no body pays taxes and the government will shutdown and we can't defend our country and it wouldn't look good.

Please use your head and start appreciate the offer.

Thanks.

Question about the Pupillary Distance (PD) measurement. I noticed on the sites PDF that it says the measurement taken is the distance PD, and if its for prescription reading glasses to minus 3mm from that value to get the near PD.

But the website only says to insert your PD value. Which one do they want here? I know I'm far sighted but I like to use my glasses for everything (mainly reading though), so should I still minus 3-4mm from my distance PD? In case it helps my PD was 65mm (and wiki says to minus 4mm instead of 3mm for PD's of 60+).

Thanks!

Trust me, they make plenty money off of me. I've been a loyal Coastal Contacts customer for years. I regularly buy my Acuvue Oyasys contacts from them. This time around I ordered the high index lenses w/ the 3 extra options and the total came out to over $54 just for the extras.

Coastal Contacts will not have a promotion like this if it didn't make business sense and profitability for them. Whether it's now or in the future. As you can see from my "free glasses" order, they WILL make a profit. Please get a clue before you comment.

Are you serious? I think you need to get YOUR head checked. Bipolar, schitzo, reclusive perhaps?

Sorry to be the one to break the bad news, but you are not "The One" and the Matrix is NOT real.

I received my pair today. The frames are plastic and the lenses are not in tight. the frames make a scrunchy sound which does not say "high quality frames." I've never had glasses do this before. Is there something I can do to tighten the lenses? Also, I did not order any coatings, but the lenses have what I think is the anti-glare coating.

I just got my pair today and they are very nice. The total cost was $25 with the 3 coatings. The frames and lenses seem to be really good quality. I even had to measure my own PD with my micrometer, but I think I got it right. I would definitely do business with Coastal Contacts again.

Just wanted to update. I got in on this deal earlier this summer, but I chose really ugly frames, so I rarely wear the glasses. Decided to go for it again, this time even upgrading to the lens coatings.

After waiting for the status to change to shipped for a few days, I stopped checking. I then got an email saying I can't get the deal because I already got a free pair of glasses. Really bummed, but then I remembered, I have to get my eyes checked soon, so I would not have been able to use the glasses for long anyways.

I have to say I am very unhappy with them. I got my first order in 4 days after submitting. I thought.."NO BAD"..then when I put them on realized they were NOT progressive lenes (top for distance, bottom for reading) and called them. They said send them back and they would credit my credit card (to date they have not!) and I re-gave them my prescription and they said they would get right on it! THAT WAS 3 WEEKS AGO! Today, they STILL were not ready to ship so I told them to forget it and just credit my credit card back (for an amount that was way higher than what I paid for the first pair that were incorrectly done).

Hate that place!
