Why are there two different colored "Thumbs Up"?

:dontknow: My guess is that the brighter color has to do with then number of votes (like different colored rep. boxes). The more the votes, the brighter the color.
I think it represents part thumbs up (kinda like 2.5 or a 3.5 or a 0.5)
