Disagree completely. This is the best way to showcase the game by showing off high level play. For those that don't know, Dota2 is basically Dota with new art assets and better community features.

So it's lame to call it '2'? Should be called Dota remastered?

I suppose you can think of it that way but it's not like they're just slapping a new coat of paint on the game. The community features are just as important as they've been teasing an integrated coaching system and other features designed to make the game accessible to beginners without dumbing down the core gameplay.

It's definitely a step up. DotA doesn't have fancy mechanics like LoL does because it is limited to the Warcraft 3 engine established by blizzard.
I've played both and liked DotA more, but that's mostly because I've played Warcraft my entire life.
AND CAN I ADD....
Anyone else really pissed off that there isn't a single damn American team in the lineup. I know NA DotA has taken a huge hit lately but it really grinds my gears that there isn't a single north american team.

This is stupid. DotA is nowhere near as balanced as vanilla WC3. It's not even in the same galaxy.
