Since it looks like I will not be getting the HP touchpad can someone help me pick one out.

I refuse to pay the craigslist prices.

I don't need it for games and it does not have to be too fancy just work good for surfing and emailing, etc. Would like to keep it under 250.

Which would you buy?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Pay $200 for a CL/Ebay Touchpad. That's still a WAY better device than anything else you'll get for that price.

I disagree that $200 Touchpad is still better than anything else for the price. It really depends on how much you want to integrate the tablet into your daily life. If you just want something to check email and browse the web, then get the Touchpad. But, if you look at many apps offered by third parties, something with more support may be better for you. I'm going to mention the ipad only because it's pervaded so many workflows in business and daily life. I lean on Netflix and Hulu a lot, since I don't have a cable or satellite TV subscription. I have nurse friends that have a lot of drug guide and anatomy apps on their iphones and ipads.

My Android cellphone has led me to do a bit of online reading. It's pretty crappy (Samsung Moment), so I don't really use it for more than basic internet, but my next phone will be better. If you're into astronomy, the Google Skymap is really cool. For us slickdealers, there's an app that scans barcodes and checks the prices online.

So, basically, decide what your intended uses are. Shop by apps, not by platform and size, and the rest will fall into place.

Thanks for the information. I can't afford an ipad, believe me I would get one if I could.

I would like to find a touchpad around here for 200 on craigslist they are asking 250-300.

If you are near springfield il I'm going to have an extra.
I'll sell it for just what I paid.
The first one I ordered when it was first posted, used a coupon and got free shipping. That one I'm keeping.
I ordered 2 more from the hp smb, didn't use a coupon and I'm being charged shipping so total would be 115.04
I don't know how to PM you or I would.
Not sure about the delivery either. One place says the ship date of 26th and delivery the 31st. Other place it says ship date of 9/6.

Not the more common "too much is not enough".

:) Private Message. Look in the upper right corner of the screen next to your name. Should be a little chat bubble icon there (1st of 2 icons). Click that to go into your "PMs".

HEYIWANTTHAT:

Hope you did not lose power in the storm. Please email when you get a chance, I am so excited to possibly get a touchpad you have no idea.

Thanks.
