So I'm in dire need of some help here since I might have just lost a couple thousand to some damn office depot order problem. Last week I saw a craigslist ad for a guy selling 100 office depot gift cards for 80% ($80 each) and I saw an opportunity to make a good buck off of it. Sounded too good to be true, but I figured that they were legit since the cashier has to activate a card before any cash can be put on it anyways.
So I bought around 100, around $8000 from my own pocket, thinking that I could maybe make a $2000 profit selling them or even buy some servers for my own use. So I placed a dozen or so orders on officedepot.com for $200 gift cards (so I only had to put up half as many ebay listings) and now all of them say "Deleted-PF(Potential Fraud)". I've yet to hear back from OD customer support and all my $100 gift cards have been zeroed. Is there anything I can do in this situation?
I contacted the craigslist guy and he said that he won't return my money since the gift cards are blanked. What can I do in this situation. I know it looks shady as hell but I guess I didn't think the whole thing through.:facepalm:Help please?? (also, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post in). Thanks in advance
