They have been at 50-60% for awhile. Here is the scoop I got at the store. They are premium blinds and they discontinued carrying that bali today brand. All stores shipped their inventory back. They are NOT able to be cut at the store. The website now says this but it was not clear in the beginning. They have a metal top part and at least in Texas they cannot be cut at the store.
Also, I ordered 3 sets. All 3 came in terrible condition and I returned them at the store based on the top metal part being extremely bent and dented. Just FYI. Good price, but this did not turn out to be a good deal for me.

Thanks for very useful information. I am glad to hear that we can still return them to HD stores. For that and the price I will like to try my luck. Are Bali today mini, 1" or 2" blinds? Exactly what color is coconut? It may be too early for me this morning but I cannot seem to find any information on their site regarding blind size and color.
Edit** I think I found my answers. Looks like they are 2" faux wood and white color.

Be prepared to wait on these blinds. Ive ordered a few sets of them, most recently ordered 2 sets on Sept 1st, and my status still shows "being processed" not "shipped"
pretty frustrating when they say 3 days for processing and 3 days for shipping...
also, hope you dont have to cut these, the stores can't, and when they ruin your set of blinds, you're left with a refund, not a replacement in store. Very frustrating last weekend when I watched them bend my 72x72 inch blinds...

I ordered on the 5th and am still waiting for them to move out of the processing state. We were upset with our first order because we ordered 3 blinds. 2 were the same color, and the last was a completely different color, even though they all came in the same box, were marked the same, etc. We are waiting on the 2 new ones to return these ones that do not match. Lets hope the 2 new ones actually make it and they are the same color. We actually got the in design real wood ones . . . but our picture window needed to be ordered from another retailer because the window was too large for the ones on home depot. There was a difference between the faux wood and real wood, but really not much of one.

My parents replaced all the blinds in their house with these. They ended up paying about $400 for over $1,000 worth of blinds, and it could have been even more since they have some custom windows. My husband is going to cut them down himself - he has the right tools, it will just require some elbow grease, but the savings is worth it (and it's a big favor to my parents after all the times they have helped us out).
I agree with the wait - they took a week to ship and another week to arrive. Out of 14 boxes of blinds, only one metal head was damaged (though the outer box they were shipped in was totally shot to hell), and it will be covered by the valance and does not affect the slats turning or moving up and down.

This is very helpful - because I found that Home Depot shipping is awful. I don't know why, but anything I've had shipped to me has been dented or broken or shattered or something along those lines. As much as I need these blinds, I'd rather avoid the shipping.

I placed an order and HD cancelled it because of insufficient stock. So I place another order, received them then found out they could be cut, so I returned them at my local HD. No they will not cut them for you. you can only reduce the size by approximately 2" from each side. They have a metal piece that can not be cut. It does the tilt of the slats. This is not a DIY cut-able blind. Even a powered miter saw would tear them up. They use a special cutter that is made to block blinds from other vendors. That is each brand has it's own cutting tool. Generally the blocking mechanism is built into the head-rail of the blind. If they do not have you're size just skip it.;)

It's easy to shorten them. Instructions will be in the box. flat tip screw driver to pry cap. cut string, swap base for last slat then tie not, replace cap. Keep extra slats if you have kids or pets. you pan pull and replace damage slats too.

she wondered how the shorter one worked? She added a piece of wood to one side. Fortunately, there is a wooden frame around the windows area that covers each side of the opening so the fact that the blind is slightly off-center is not noticeable unless you really look inside the window frame. It would not have worked on a regular window.

Any HD discount codes?
I think only the wood blinds can be cut. Mine had directions on the box for HD on how to cut them.
I haven't tried yet to install mine or see if any cutting is needed.
My wood blinds came ok. The one box was beat up but blinds are ok.
I had ordered 4 before between 2 orders to use the 2 discount codes and now
they are about $9 less on one order and $12 on the other.
Just ordered 4 more and have to put 2 blinds per window since its to big for just one wood blind.

I'm in for 7. I am planning on cutting them down myself. 29" actual size 28.5" it says, I need them for 27" windows. The 29" were almost 10$ less apiece than the 27" ones. I've cut blinds like these down before I don't think this brand can somehow be extra difficult or something. Hope they don't come all damaged or that I wait months like the July 14th guy. I wouldn't mind just having these blinds in the window. The expense of getting new curtains my girlfriend started talking about and got all excited never entered my mind in what the overall price of replacing blinds would be.

Yup. Not worth the hassle to me either. They all came in used/broken. Then when returned, it took 3 weeks to get credit back to my card. It is a good deal if it goes smooth, and they are delivered in new condition. Or if you don't mind all the hassle of returning. But I ordered twice, on the last deal. And both times, I had to return them. Not TC on the deal. Just don't get your hopes up too high.

No idea about the warranty, but that much movement will give a short life to the slats. They hang from a small tab.
Ask the builder says "you can screw into the fiberglass with coarse-thread screws. Do not over tighten."
Personally if I did this I would add exterior grade double sided foam tape and wall anchors. 3m Model #:411DC. Use a hole punch to make a screw hole in the foam. Clean surface with rubbing alcohol. The holes will hold better if you pre-drill them and use wall anchors. When selecting the anchors be sure to get one that works on thin walls. (Less than a 1/4") That fiberglass is thin and strips out easily.
The best option is to change the widow to a built in blind style.

And consequently the warranties offered on them were shorter. Really liked the idea though.
Do you think any type of vertical blinds would hold up with just exterior-grade double-sided foam tape if they'll never be pulled up and down (and very rarely opened/closed)? I'm tempted to try that on a 32x80 door.

The machine clamps the slats tightly and has a special designed circular saw. Not an endeavor of the light hearted without that machine. Even with the machine they have issues with strait cuts etc.

Its very iffy. The surface area of the bracket is to small. You could get the weight of the blind and the size of the bracket that would be taped. Then contact 3m. Also if it's painted or finished it will affect the strength of the bond. Most times paint will peel before the tape releases.

Wow now this is what I call a late delay front page deal :D, they have had these prices for not just days or weeks but months :) At one point they actually were even lower about 2 or 3 months ago, I missed that and bought some blinds about a month ago for this price.
And for those wondering if the width can be adjusted, it definitely can. You can not take them to home depot to get them cut but you can do it yourself. I adjusted both the blinds and the valance that comes with the wood deseignview blinds that I believe are at the lowest price in this sale. Very easy to do with a miter saw if you ask me. if you really wanted you can probably take off about 1.5 or 2 inches off each side, but 1" would probably be the most I would go to leave some space on edges. I got the 23" blinds, smaller ones might have less room to work with.
Another thing, these blinds have so many strings to pull its bizzare, never seen such a thing and can be very frustrating if you use them a lot, there is 6 total strings, the biggest issue is the 4 for raising a lowering, no idea why u need 2 for each side (front and back)

Not to TC but I only want help by providing more options for my fellow SDers.
Since these blinds CANNOT be cut in store and the size you are looking for is not available at Home Depot, then check out the Sears (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_024C5347000B?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1&sid=I0084400010000100383&aff=Y) 50% clearance on Cannon Fauxwood blinds in White color.
I went to check them out in the store and they look similiar to the Home Depot's DesignView Fauxwood blinds. I measured the blinds and the width is 1/2 inch less than the width stated on the packaging. Which is what it should be. The valance width is exactly the width as stated on the packaging.

Ugh Home Depot speed of processing orders is pretty bad. I now have 4 out standing orders starting from September 3rd, and not a single shipping notice. I'm a little spoiled on Amazon prime ROFL. I just hope the inventory control is better than they do in store.
I ordered 3x 36x72 wood blinds on sept 8th and they just shipped now.

You can cut these no problem with a miter saw if you have one or know someone that has it. As I stated just before your post you can take off about an inch on each side from the 23" wood designview blinds, I am sure its the same for faux wood.
Thanks.
Ordered 2 of the Designview 42 in. X 72 in. Golden Oak Premium Basswood Blinds
I hope they ship and aren't damaged.

I ordered a pair on Aug. 11 and I'm pretty confident I will never receive them. Their website showed them as being in stock for a full 10 business days AFTER I received my backorder notification. That's some mighty fine inventory software at work.
Like others, I have received a couple of emails offering me the opportunity to cancel my order. I've contacted them twice and both times they've flat out lied saying they expected them to ship (first on the 22nd of August and then again at the beginning of September). These were for our baby's room (due this friday) so we had to go another route.

Just as an update, the order I placed on Aug. 11 was officially cancelled by Home Depot today. They are sending me a $10 gift card for my inconvenience, which is better than nothing I suppose.

I found one that the width is perfect and so is the color but it is twice as long as we need.
Has anyone actually tried shortening one of these lengthwise?
Yes, I already bought several of the Designview Premiums and shortened all of them. Instructions for shortening are included and it isn't difficult.

Not real sure how to measure my windows. These can go inside the window or outside of the window, correct? If I decide to put these insde of my window, it needs to be 2" deep from the window nearest to the blinds?

Just a follow up - mine came today.
Awful packaging. Literally 5 of the boxes taped together - the boxes themselves offering absolutely no padding/styrofoam/etc. That said, none of mine were actually damaged - but one box was torn open by the UPS guy as he walked it up to my house (no damage though)
Of the 5 I ordered, only 3 of them were complete. One of them was obviously a returned item - missing several parts - and screws were used. The other was missing parts but appeared new.
I was told to return the 2 incomplete sets to the store and place a phone order for 2 replacements.
Hung 2 sets, overall great for the price - even with the hassle of a return/reorder.

They can be used either way, depending on the depth between your window glass and the wall. If you have any hardware (window cranks, etc.), you'll probably want to mount them on the outside of the window.
I figured out how to measure mine by google and youtube.
I used search terms <Outside Mount blinds measurement> because my window is only about 3/4 deep. Mine (if/when I get them) will be outside mounted.
I got a delayed delivery notification today that they should be shipped within 10-14 days. I ordered on 9/11.

I had to reorder 2. 1 was missing the whole box of mounting hardware and 1 had the end tore open like UPS dragged it around on the ground, I blame the missing box and damage on UPS as it looked like they tore it in shipping. After I reordered 2 I thought about combining the damaged one with the missing box one to only have to reorder one but think I am safer this way if next ones come damaged also.

Ordered 9/11 and shipping finally updated this week. Looks like I should be getting mine on Friday.
I used online chat to apply RESELLERRATINGS coupon code ($10 off $50) from a resellerratings survey to my order. According to the rep, I should see the refund in a few days.

took forever to get here, and i finally decided to hang one.... absolute garbage... the worst/cheapest blind i've ever bought.... paid about the same for blinds.com in house brand, and the blinds.com stuff is easily 10 times nicer at around the same price (if you wait on sales). I'll never buy Bali again, absolute junk.

I bought two blinds to try them out. I was very happy with what I received so I ordered more for the rest of the house. It looks like the deal was restarted/extended thru 11/23. My second order actually had a lower per unit price than the first.

This is the one I bought to be cut: Bali Today 36 in. x 54 in. Honey Premium Faux Wood Blind. I purchased the Bali Today aluminum mini blinds when they were 75% off earlier this year and had them cut in store (they had a metal header as well)...perhaps it depends on store. Hope that helps...
The aluminum ones can be cut in store....different machine. If it is the steel 2" header they won't cut it in store.
