View Full Version : Is there anyway to sell a game with no upc?

Here is my question and I hope someone can give me some advice.

I received a PS3 game called ‘Move Heroes’ from a sweepstakes. Now most games I have received from sweeps have a UPC but this one has none. Where the UPC code is suppose to be there is a little sign that says ‘not for resale’.

I had planned on selling the game at a local game shop, but then I noticed the ‘not for resale’ sign on it. I doubt a company would take it off my hands.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Its collecting dust around my house and I would like to get a little money for it if at all possible.
Thanks. :)

Craigslist. Or download an HD cover slip for the game, and print it out on similar material.

Yep, CL or eBay is your best bet.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

Now I have to go find a photo of the UPC…unless someone happens to have one handy. ;)

Thanks again.

I always used cdcovers.cc for all my movie cover art.

You could probably still sell that to Gamestop, but you might as well throw your $$$ away rather than sell a game to them. Most games that are include in a console bundle will have that UPC missing and they sell those...but they also sell games without without ANY cover art also.

You could always list it as "Disc Only" on Glyde too, but CL will always be your best bet.

I tried trading God of War 3 in to Amazon and it said "Not for Resale" because I bought it bundled with a controller. They sent it back to me stating they couldn't take it for that reason.

However, I recently bought a used copy of Socom 4 from Amazon and the UPC was cutoff. I'm assuming it said Not for Resale also because it was probably bundled with the Sharpshooter....so a way around it may be to just cut it off? :)

Way back when I would sell used games on eBay and I had a couple of cases where I sold games that I neatly cut the UPC out of (I don't remember if it was for rebates, or something else) - I just put in the listing that the game had no UPC, It was never a problem.

I'm not so sure I'd try that in the rampant chargeback era, but I'd be confident selling on CL the same way (no UPC)

Same thing happened to me. Tried trading in some game that was not for resale a couple years ago and they wouldnt take it. Couple months later I bought Uncharted used from them and the UPC was cut out with a sticker over it.
