I am gonna give you some good and bad points if you are thinking of buying it for HP TOUCHPAD:
GOOD:
> Near perfect fit for HP TOUCHPAD.
> The case does not block any swipe gestures required for TP.
> The case does not block the build in speaker of TP..
> The stiching and finishing are quite good and leather gives it a very nice touch.
> It also has a nice stand which gives it a good angle for typing.
> One of the cheapest leather case available in market for TP.
> Very sturdy case and good alternative to save your TP if you have small kids at home(my TP survived a fall) .
> Since it is available from AMAZON with free shiping you can aways return the case if you dont like the fit.
BAD:
> Near perfect fit for HP TOUCHPAD( I know some of you folks will say it is meant for IPAD)
> Build quality is very good which make it a litte heavy.
Please look at some photos to to get an idea of fit on HP touchpad.

Reps/comments will be appreciated.
Like it, thanks for including the pics.
Are the areas that touch the Touchpad hard plastic? If so, is there any wear on the body of the Touchpad?

It is hard plastic and is a good fit on 2 ends but will definately not wear body of TP.

I have one of these and the TP doesn't fit securely. The top and bottom plastic tabs in portrait mode are too far apart so if you were to tilt this with the cover open the tablet will fall out. If you want to use this to transport the TP with the cover closed and the strap securing it then it's fine. It will also work as a stand.

Thanks just bought one. I do not know why Binar ( #5 ) cancelled it. Binar check the pics, it fits well on TP. Anyway if you do not like it, you can return it with reason of poor packaging ( so you will get free return label ) which what I will do if I do not like it. Thanks for the post.

I ordered one of these and it is gorgeous, and a good fit. There is a gap on each end which is easily remedied with some adhesive-backed foam tape, even makes the fit 'softer' less chance of marring the finish of the TP over repeated use. Simply replace the foam tape as it wears. The top and bottom clip in nicely and does not feel insecure in any way.

I agree if you mod it by applying tape to one of the brackets to reduce the gap the TP will fit pretty snugly. I modded mine with tape and gave it to my mom for her TP. I didn't want a case with tape on it for myself. Without modification it's not a secure fit.
I bought one of these because there was another thread posted here a while ago saying this case fit perfectly and then when I got it I was disappointed. Just trying to help people avoid my experience.
I mean think about it. The Ipad and TP have different dimensions in terms of length in landscape mode (difference is .11 inches) The iPad is longer. Does it make any sense that a tablet that is shorter in length would be a secure fit with a case that relies on brackets that are made to the exact dimensions of the longer tablet to securely hold the tablet in place?

Yeah, I have it for my Touchpad, I've modified it (some electric tape over piece of earplug) and I'd not buy it if I were doing it again. It is real leather, and quite nice, but also a bit heavy. Modding is not as good as a proper fit to begin with. And I'll have to modify it even more if I want to be able to plug it in while in the case. There are good deals on cases that are made for the Touchpad, and I'd get one of those. For the iPad, it would be very nice.

This is exactly what I am talking about...There are 4 clips(2 vertical and 2 horizontal) to secure the tablet in the case. The vertical clips are perfect fit and horizontal ones are little loose. You can even make fit the horizontal onse by some foam + adhesive but I havent done that because I feel 2 vertical clips are strong enough to hold the TP. See the attached image for more info.....and if still you dont like it then you can safely return it.

Yes, the fairly large horizontal gap is the problem. The vertical tabs are close but not exactly a perfect fit either since the touchpad is very slightly shorter in width than an iPad. The test for a secure fit is if you tilt the tablet from the screen facing up and and turn it upside down with the screen facing the floor and the cover open, does it fall out or is it in any way unstable where it might fall out? Mine fell out of this case just by tilting it.
Is this case useful for some people, yes. The materials are nice. If it fit better I wouldn't have given it away. But if you are picky about your case fitting properly you won't be happy.

I got a poetic plastic protector around my TP, can I use this case with the poetic shell around my TP? any comments?
UPDATE: Received it today, well fit with my Touchpad covered by Poetic shell case.. no loose edges etc.. awesome durable and looks more professional.. for $8+ ... not a bad deal...

This case looks like a nice addition. I don't like the rounded back of the touchpad, as the rounded slope makes it insecure to hold in one hand without resorting to gripping the touchscreen area as well. Perhaps this case will make the unit easier to hold.
How easy/quick is it to remove the touchpad from the case? I have a touchstone charging cradle, which I assume means that the touchpad needs to be removed before docking.

Can anyone verify if this works or not with the touchstone?
