Without modern electronics, mankind would have limited access to Bach's symphonies, Hitchcock's films, and Bob Saget's dog and baby voice-overs. Stock up on entertaining appliances with today's Groupon: for $25, you get $50 worth of software, computers, and accessories at the Microsoft Store in Costa Mesa or Mission Viejo.
Microsoft stores outfit cyborgs-in-training with high-tech tools including software, computers, gaming consoles, smartphones, and accessories. Customers can manipulate brawny athletes with their fingertips during endless seasons of Madden NFL 12 ($59.95). A Gears of War 3 wireless controller ($59.99) stamped with the Infected Omen symbol aids the quest to defeat the alien race and discover the cure for Infected Omen symbols. The Xbox 360 4 GB console with Kinect bundle ($299.99) doesn’t need a controller during playtime, so gamers can compete by swaying hips, stomping feet, and knitting leg warmers while playing Kinect games such as Dance Central ($39.99). At both locations, tech wizards roam the stores' airy environs helping customers alight on the right devices or programs for their needs.

Can I use multiple coupon on a purchase?
Do MS stores receive games on release date? I'm thinking this would be a nice way to pre-order a few upcoming games at a great price.

I'm not sure. But there is a limit of 1 per person but can buy 2 additional as gifts.

I'm sure the MS store gets games on release date. I am looking forward to pre-ordering MW3 and using this groupon. Great deal: $59.99 (retail price for new release game) - $50 (Groupon) = $10 plus tax. So all in all its $25 (groupon) + $10 (out of pocket) + tax = between $36-$38 for new release game. Not bad. What do you think? :)

Sounds good, I was thinking the same thing. Going a little further, maybe this would work: get a buddy to gift a voucher to pre-order another game at whichever location you didn't pre-order the first game at. For example MW3 at South Coast, and then BF3 at Mission Viejo.

It's better to edit the title I believe because there are more Microsoft stores in SoCal.

Sounds like a plan. I am buying one for myself then giving one as a gift to my fiance. Then signing on my fiance's groupon account to buy one again and then gifting myself. Grand total of 4.

cool, i had $5 in groupon bucks. This will be perfect for using to buy a christmas present for my brother! TU Rep'd.
Also, I don't know if the store is running the same deals as online, but it looks like when you pre-order any of the big titles, you get a $10 credit towards your next purchase

No. The groupon is a coupon code and not a gift card. So you can only use one at a time. Even if you buy one as a gift, you cannot combine them.

Ya, but you can still only use one at a time. So I guess if you shop there a lot, it is worth it.
I wish they had this deal available on the east cost

Some in Microsoft store items are expensive than retail store (Target, Walmart, Office Depot...)

With sales tax, I'm having a harder time imagining what I can get cheaper there than online.

When you preorder MW3 you get a $5 discount when you pick up the game. So go to the store, pay the $10 preorder deposit, and pay $45 + tax when you pick up. Even better deal.
edit: I forgot to add they are giving a $25 gift card when you preorder a game also (promotion for certain games i.e BF3, MW3, Halo). Call your store for details.
Your purchase could look like this;
$59.99 + tax for MW3
-$5 for preorder discount
Actual out of pocket cost will be $54.99 + tax
Now use the $50 groupon you paid 25 for
So now you owe 4.99 + tax (on original amount)
Total out of pocket cost $25 + 4.99 + tax
You get back $25 GC to MSFT store when you pick up your preorder copy.
That means you can get MW3 for as little as 4.99+tax
I wish this was good at the san diego location too :(

Could you buy Amazon Gift cards with this? I'm reading the description on the Groupon and it doesn't say. That would be a great deal!

Yep you are right. Just have to look around. I know that computer accessories at Microsoft store are more expensive. Video games may be the same price.

Wouldn't your $10 deposit be applied back also making your price under $50 so you couldn't use the groupon for just the game?
$59.99 - $5 discount for preordering - $10 deposit already paid = $44.99 +tax to pay at pickup.

On a side note: only 40 left
Unless you have to use up the whole groupon at once, you would have put the preorder on the groupon, and use up the rest when you pick up the game.
If the groupon must be used up at once, why not use it to get a MSFT store GC? Then put the preorder on that.

I'm concerned that they will say the using a Groupon invalidates the $25 GC offer. Anyone know?

Hey, beauty of Groupon is if you aren't happy, give them a call and you'll get your money back. Its in MSFT's best interest to give you the gift card as well, since you can complain and *easily* get your money back.

Well the $25GC offer is a special promotion, just like their $5 discount promotion. Even if the groupon specifically states not valid with any other promotions, I doubt they will not give you the $25 GC or the $5 promotion discount.
I used a GC to put a preorder deposit down on GoW3, and then used the GC again to pay for the game when I picked it up. I spoke w/ a manager before doing that and he said its all good.
But then again, it is YMMV b/c different employees will tell you different things.

I wish they would do another promotion like the $25 for each old cell phone. That was awesome. Got a free laptop in exchange for broken phones......
There prices are so high, probably won't got back unless they have another similar promo.

Went to the South Coast Plaza store and bought 2 x $25 Amazon Kindle GC. They did not want to do it initially but went ahead after one of the cashier had a talk with the manager in the back office.

Stopped by the South Coast store yesterday and showed an associate my Groupon while I was paying for my Battlefield 3 preorder. I paid for the $10 game deposit out of pocket.
He then gave me a $50 Microsoft Store Gift Card which I'm able to use at other Microsoft Stores outside the Orange County. That works out of fine for me because I live much closer to the LA store. I guess he assumed it was $50 gift card voucher from Groupon.
