DEAD

So I was REALLY surprised to see REI's coupon code working on the National Parks Pass - and it works at 30% even though it's not a clearance price!! In 10min of searching, I couldn't find any other site that sold it with any discount. It normally runs for $80+$5S&H. This is for Calendar Year 2012.

Need to apply "FALL4MEM" at checkout to see price. (You need to be a REI member to use this code)

Here is some detail on the pass:

I'm thinking this is a HOT deal! Maybe someone that has purchased before can chime in???

No, but one of my friends talked about it a while ago. What do you need to know ? I'll ask her.

I can't see where you can apply the code to get discount. You forgot to say "For all orders a $5.00 USD handling charge is applied"

I was just curious if it ever goes on sale??

I read the gov website, so I think I have all the pass details.

There is no $5 processing fee (I'm looking at final checkout page right now) ... maybe you are getting that because you are not a member or something.

You need to apply the coupon after hitting the checkout button, under "4. Paying with Online Coupons".

I have to fill in cc info and hit checkout button, then I'm not sure if next will be a confirmation page of my order or the page where I can be able to fill in the code.

Unless it says "Submit Order" on the button, you are not on the last page. I can't tell you the exact steps because I already have my account setup from long ago, and can't remember how many screens (or the sequence) when first creating an account.

Thanks for your effort, but I am still reluctant. It's a really good deal if you can get it with $56

You're on the wrong site. Discount is when you buy it from REI, not USGS.

Yep, you do need to be a member. I'll add that to the description ... I just kinda assumed everyone knows this by now. Sorry. BTW, $20 is well worth a lifetime membership.

Also, for the seniors out there, don't miss the Seniors Pass. Age 62 +. Unbelievable value. I bought mine several years ago for $5. Now it's $10. My wife & I were going into Mt. Rainier & the entrance fee was like $15 apiece. The lady says why don't you get the Senior Pass for $5 & use it forever, at any National parks site & for everyone in your party. Since then I have taken family members thru so many places that you wouldn't even know we run by the National Parks, & all for free. Whoever you have with you is free. Impossible to put a value on the savings I've enjoyed but it certainly is a GREAT value.

That is an unbelievable value ... can I buy it now, and use it when I become a senior, since it will likely be $1000 by then? :)

this pass can be a great value even at $80 (and it's never on sale), particularly for those who live or travel to states with lots of national parks (the west, mainly). brilliant find, op!

I guess assuming they intended to allow the coupon to work on this pass, it could conceivably work at the B&M store (assuming they carry it in-store). It's worth a shot if you want one and are shopping for other deals anyway. Just an idea.

DEAD - either they removed it, or SD bought them out.

I called the 800 number, they said i could use the code at the store.

However, the store is saying the computer doesn't give them the option of entering the code, so she ended up giving me a 20% off, since the "FALL4MEM" code is for clearance items only.

Hey - I'm far from complaining, the NP card is an AWESOME deal at regular price.

FALL4MEM is not just for clearance items. It just is a lower discount (20%) for non-clearance. And, btw, it was listed in the Clearance section of the website, despite not having the price indicative of a clearance item.

I assume the "she" you are referring to was a clerk at the B&M store? So you are saying they are honoring the 20% discount at the physical store, and you bought one there?

The 800 number person said I could use it at the store.

When I called the store, the clerk could not use the code in conjunction with the FALL4MEM code.

Then the clerk at the store found an alternate way to give me the 20% off. I do not know how.
