Um, hot deal? Artificially claiming and/or creating a shortage to try increasing demand? Hm, another marketing ploy, not hot deal

i agree for someone who wants to be on sidelines...but people who wants to buy iphone and struggling in lines outside of apple store with no results, this is good news...that they can reserve it in advance and pick it up later...

prepare for a deluge of "thumbs downs" from people too ignorant to acknowledge something available at MSRP can actually be a hot deal. e.g., tickle me elmo, PS3, Wii, superbowl tickets, etc.

No question that this thread will see a lot of red based on past history around here. However, anyone who is blurbing out random hate comments because this is an Apple product should not forget the amount of people who is interested in this (http://www.mobiledia.com/news/111478.html).

I am perfectly happy with my unlocked Nokia phone and my $6/month t-zones unlimited data plan, but, if I were in the market for an iPhone, this could have been useful. So, here it is: thanks for the heads up OP!

seriously? the wii was hard to get for close to a year. elmo was a few months, and super bowl tickets are limited number (and last superbowl even had less seats than tickets)

whereas this product only has a shortage of 2 weeks.

It took almost four months for Apple to get iPad 2's to the maintained "Ready in 24 hours" availability.
