I'm not crazy about such attention to this..my post on J.Bourne was just that, a post that I gave some thought to.

That being said...

Kimber is at a point where one foot is still in young womanhood...
She has adult issues in her everyday life just like the rest of us but feels overwhelmed sometimes. She is not the type to ask for help and puts a strong front up for both her family and friends. She wants to be in control of her surroundings but doesn't always have the tools to do this. Her bravado here is how she copes with her shyness in RL. She is fiercely loyal to a fault and a true romantic at heart. She craves attention while at the same time being reluctant to being the center of attention. She enjoys sarcasm without being hurtful. She wants to be wild and adventurous but still craves the security of a warm hearth. She is best suited in a job in the public sector where she can fully utilize her longing to help others and improve her community.

I recognized the name, but didn't know either - I found this:
Often called one of the greatest humorists America has produced in the last 50 years, Erma Bombeck was a product of the American midwest. A journalist at the Dayton Herald in Ohio for four years, she quit to raise a family. Bored as a housewife, she began to write humorous columns for a local newspaper. Her old employer, the Dayton Herald, then hired her to write a regular column, and soon the columns became syndicated. In addition to these writings, and the several collections in book form of her stories, she was a correspondent on the ABC news show "Good Morning, America". In 1971 she moved with her family to Paradise Valley, Arizona. She long had an interest in cancer research, and was active in raising money for treatment of children with cancer. In Houston Texas in 1992 she received the Cancer League's "Laughter is the Best Medicine" award; five months later she herself was diagnosed with cancer.

I have read her posts as well as the other members posts and have some food for thought.

Lovely is very, very young both chronologically and her maturity level. Her manner of speaking and lack of restraint in some of her posts makes me think she is still a willful, undisciplined child. The image I have of her is "Lolita" both childishly seductive and manipulative. Perhaps that is why her thoughtless deception broke hearts here.

I imagine that her manipulativeness was a survival mechanism from childhood along with a need to please at all costs. No ability to extrapolate out to the consequences of her actions. She painted herself into a corner with untruths posted here for all to read and did not have the maturity to own up and simply ask for forgiveness.

Her leaving this forum weighs upon her more than us. This was a source of support, involvement, encouragement and entertainment. She has probably already registered at another forum to receive the approval that she so badly craves.

VQ was one of the first people I interacted with here at the lounge. I think all of us appreciate his dark sense of humor as well as his almost astringent wit. I find myself literally laughing out loud at his no holds barred quips on everything and anything.

I'm going to get bashed for this post however that's okay. VQ knows I have the utmost love and respect for him.

First off you consider internet posting the equivalent of intellectual slumming but you can't help yourself. Your intelligence has been more of an obstacle than an asset your entire life or at least as long as you can remember. Being the "smartest kid in the class" didn't garner friends but rather jealousy and petty name calling. You have considered yourself an outsider since childhood and use humor to "fit in" both online and RL.

You think your boss is an idiot and grind your teeth at the inefficiencies and incompetence you are surrounded by daily. You are a man of action with no plan of action allowed. Your coworkers annoy you with their dullness. You are suffocating under the weight of a job that does not truly challenge and utilize all of your brilliance and talent. You are living a quiet life of desperation that is only not so quiet when you vent here online.

You ask yourself daily "Is this as good as it gets?" but have no clear picture of what you want as an alternative. You drink to excess to both blur the reality of an unfulfilled potential that you sense lying just beneath the surface and to ease the anguish that is your everyday existence. When you dream it is of far off and tropical islands and a simple existence. What you crave most is to be loved, understood and accepted. That being said you will act in ways that cause hurt and confusion to all around you.

You are bored.
You are uber intelligent.
You long for emotional connection.

You often "can't get out of your own way". You sabotage yourself because deep down you think you are not "good enough". Your success to date you often blame on your ability to scam others. You do not accept praise easily.

You need to accept the love that is offered. You are an exceptional human being with worth and potential beyond expression. The story that is your life is still being written so be kind to the protagonist that is you.

Peace.

good analysis

though, i dont think VQ was "the smartest kid in class". From my guess... he was the naughty mischevious kid in school. A brilliant mind, but never applied it to his schoolwork

my guess is that VQ was the type of person that kids looked up to when he was a kid.... a leader type

am i right? way off? am i stupid?

About me being the smart kid?

Well I held a 4.2 all through HS and I dated the valedictorian (she had a 4.25, that bitch).

I was voted class clown.

In college I held a 3.8 but I graduated with a 3.2 on account of I had one incomplete, that was the result of lots of drinking.

I didn't make Dean's List.

Wot are you looking for me to say? That I was a giant farkup? That didn't happen until way later.

Grade school... my main memories are of stealing kisses from this redheaded girl and hanging out with my best friend who was black, and everyone was mad at me b/c my best friend was black. I got into some fights on account of that.

Junior high, let's see, I wanted to wear sweatpants and my folks thought that was common so I wore jeans on the bus and carried sweatpants in my backpack, and changed into them during 1st period when I was a TA. I also snuck out of gym class, but only during the summer months b/c I hated stupid floor hockey and gymnastics. During the winter I PWND everyone b/c I knew how to skate and played ice hockey. I skated rings around those losers.

We moved after 8th grade.

edit: I'm home, my "End" key works, and I'm going to walk my dog now.

Slick Chick is one of our not so common 20 somethings.... She balances her RL demands of finding a job, hooking up with the time she spends here posting and connecting. When she does post it is very supportive and encouraging. She is freakishly normal. I think she might be more outgoing here than she is in RL but only until people get to know her. This forum is a big part of her social life and she probably asks members here for feedback before making decisions. She is also detail oriented sometimes to the point of OCD and is a big list maker. Most of it was dead on. I have few support systems in RL because I'm tired of being hurt by friends/family. So most of my social interaction is here, at least until I make some new friends in Atlanta.

I know other people come here for social support, so I always try to be supportive and encouraging to members.

I am usually quiet until I get to know people, but can make myself be more outgoing when I need to be.

Why do I always think of John Belushi in Animal House when I see Pig?

He's incorrigiable, disgusting yet lovable...

Everybody loves the Pig.

Is he 14 or 44? Hard to tell from his posts. Truth is it doesn't matter and he called it best himself. Pig is an Instigator. He hates to be bored and will be the first to post a provocative post for entertainment purposes only. Because he's the Pig.

Pig seems pretty comfortable in his own skin and is probably quite easygoing in RL. Only difference being that he gets away with a lot more here than he could ever dream of in RL. I'm just glad that he makes time to post here on top of all those MMO games he's involved with. The lounge is hard to compete with Halo 2 or Call of Duty. Pig may be the class clown but I'm glad he's our class clown. Course at one point you will have to move out of your parent's basement even though we all enjoy the podcasts. :)

I think Pig is 35, somewhere around that range at least. But I have thought the same as the rest of your analysis about him.

Lots of posts that were interesting to review for Precious..or should I say..My Precious....

If Precious were a dog she would be a toy poodle.

Adorable, loyal, flakey, yappy & irresistable....

So much energy but I'm not always sure what exactly the message is. What I do know is she has strong opinions on everything and even more so strongly supports everyone's right to express their opinion. Precious is an equal opportunity member. None of her posts are judgmental, attacking or nasty. She is a regular cheerleader for the most part or just think "Goldie Hawn" back in the 70's... Precious will never disappoint because what you see is what you get and she packs alot into a very small package. A package that is sure to never disappoint.

No, it's not just you. I'm absolutely spellbound. M2P's apparent insight is blowing me away. (And this from someone who a) knows a lot of incredibly insightful people IRL and b) Is a psych major and knows all the "lingo" and theories.)

My curiosity is getting the better of me and is making me want to rescind my original rescindment when she seemed uncomfortable at first. I'd love to have the pleasure of sitting in M2P's virtual psychoanalysis chair.

Momto2Pooches, you're incredible! Heck, you could pioneer a brand new type of online psychology! ;)

I'm not going to make the usual lame jokes about Punkie and Punkie Brewster. That being said she does have spunk. Can I say that in this day and age without embarrassement?

I love the pictures of Punkie in the gallery and at her MySpace account. Most of all the scowling ones. Just so much tolerance for the camera and the need to smile and then she gets impatient. What a firefly she is..burning so bright but then flitting off so quickly. Punkie has intelligence enough for three young women but we need to work on the attention span part. The pouts on her current pictures reveal the turmoil within. What a rebel you are but mostly on the PC. It's difficult to balance that need for love and acceptance with a desire to smash the machine. Keep the fire burning without burning down the house. That will be your biggest challenge and your greatest reward.

There's nothing to "buy into". Yes, M2P is very articulate, but she's also incredibly insightful. Yeah, anyone can get a rough sense of someone's personality from posts, but M2P seems to have an uncanny ability to "hit the nail on the head" on some of the deeper issues.

And I think we all have a tacit understanding that this is not completely "serious" -- that there is an element of fun and entertainment in seeing what she comes up with. I think you're missing that, a.............

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!
