Just watched a great (crazy) day of college football on my 80"... AWESOME!

120Hz refresh, no big deal and not much worse than 240Hz. 60Hz would be a different story!

TVsZone... AVOID!!! Get it elsewhere!!!

Inane comments... get a life!

If he's anything like me, there would be a pause where I question whether an 80" TV is worth not eating for 9 months....... but hey at least I'll lose weight while watching The Office on a giant TV.

I'm actually excited for this deal, not for the specific display though. This means that the 80" Plasma's will be coming down to consumer prices in the next year or 2 (I'm not going to get into the whole LCD vs Plasma debate). They were running closer to the 20k range when I pulled the trigger on a 65" panasonic VT25 last year. Drooling at the thought of ditching this now tiny 65" Panny Behemoth for an 85" Panny Plasma soon. (I know wishing for the 103" to drop in price soon is just pushing it)

It is time!
Here is the 85" Panny you always wanted. I think it is time to step up!

and only a few more "$K's" than the 80" 'er

Pssssshhh, That's not a slickdeal, it's only $19,887.96 at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RL8I0Y?linkCode=xm2&tag=invihand-20

And this guy has it for 14,499 on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320793279383+.

On second thought, I might hold out another year or two, and get one under 5k.

Yep. You're right. I should have checked for a discount price before posting. I just did not think it would have been on Ebay this soon.

I would rather wait til SamsClub does another $900 price mistake so I can afford a TV that size.
I am very happy with the 60" Sharp 240Hz LED that was $855 2 months ago.

Who had a 60" Sharp 240Hz LED for $855? BB has the 70" sharp for $2k now, but i'd get the 60" $855 in a second!

You would if owned a 46" 60Hz Sharp and 55" 240Hz Vizio. There's a difference believe me.

If refresh rate is the main concern then go with a Plasma; 600hz refresh rate.

I actually got 2 of them plus they came with a nice wall mount. Shipping was only $49 I think.
It was $971 each delivered after tax and shipping.

Sold my 2006 65" Mitsubishi DLP for $400. Turned out that this was a $571 upgrade. although it is a smaller size. I am happy.

1080p is fine on an 80 inch if you are at proper seating distance. No need for 4k on a 80 inch.

umm... wrong. people need to learn to shut their mouths when they do not know what they are talking about. sub-field drive is not the same as refresh rate. do your research before opening your mouth. thanks, and please take no offense.

Mr. Narcissist,

It seems that the people here are concerned about the refresh rates becuase they want a better fast moving image quality. There were no mention of other concerns such as weight, power consumption, viewing angles, etc...

All else equal, will a 600hz "sub-field drive" Plasma provide a better fast moving image quality then a LCD with a 60hz or 120hz "refresh rate"?
