I have this laptop and i love it. I am an engineering student and it runs all our analysis software without a hitch (sap2000, microstation, autocad, matlab). the 4gb of ram is a single chip so you can upgrade to 8gb with a 20 dollar 4gb ram module easily. Mine is the b940 and no usb 3.0. it is a great machine, the aluminum rest is always cool on the wrists, and the 1 year accidental warranty is great. this is a no brainer, great deal.

My order is backordered! How is TigerDirect on backorders? Will they cancel or backorder for months?

CSR said she expects them to arrive next week. That's what Lenovo told me before they waited 5 days to cancel my last order. :mad: Tiger, you better deliver!

After logging in to the site, and clicking my order #, it says my order is shipped and has a tracking #. I got in before it hit front page. Maybe the late comers are getting canceled?

I was able to get one, but I really wanted to get the Lenovo that BB had for $179. If anyone in the Maryland area wants to swap (plus the $100 difference), let me know.

Their excuse for cancellation is exactly the same as fry's last year with the logitech's 1100 harmony. I cancelled my damn newegg order because of Tiger direct and now I have no laptop. I say we all do the same as we did with fry's last year, and make a petition online, and force them to order more laptops to fulfill our orders.

I can't remember the petition website that was used last year. The CEO of that website actually got involved because there were so many complaints.

They cancelled my order...I called and explained that I had ordered a laptop from Newegg and cancelled that order when I got this deal. I appealed to their integrity as a large corporate citizen to make this right. I, along with a sales rep, searched their site for a similar laptop.

They offer me this, HP 630 LJ514UT Notebook PC - Intel Core i3-370M 2.40GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, 15.6" Display, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit at their cost ($380). I said sometimes big business has to lose money on deals in order to have integrity. I demanded this laptop at the exact same price as the Asus. He said sorry, this is the best they could do. I asked to speak to a manager, he put me on hold and when he returned, told me they decided to give it to me for the same price as the Asus. Score +1 for the little guy. Never give up, escalate, be firm but polite.

I received my laptop a few days ago and I am really happy with it for the price I paid. The only thing that concerns me is that the DVD drive makes a kind of loud noise when I turn the laptop on or when I close the DVD drive door. I don't think anything is wrong with it I think I am just used to my old laptop that didn't make this noise. Has anyone else noticed their laptop make a similar noise? Thanks

Yeah I love it to... I don't think it is anything to worry about. Seems kind of odd though since it is nearly silent and seems really well built except for that noise. Thanks and repped for the reply.
