It would be 1 - 0.6*0.85 = 0.49 = 49% savings.

In simpler terms, if the shoe is for $100 lets say, with 40% off, you pay $60. And you get 15% cashback on $60, i.e, 0.15*60 = $9. So you ended up paying $51, i.e, 49% savings.

And then the order was wrong. I ordered a hat, one pair of shorts, and a pair of shoes. They sent the hat and two pairs of identical shorts and NO shoes. I called customer service and all they did was say "Sorry, those shoes are out of stock so all we can do is give you a refund, please send back the extra pair of shorts." Wow, you would think with their overpriced retail prices that maybe they could have some decent customer service and get their orders right.

finally got my one pair today, after calling them yesterday to inquire, they said it was taking so long (10 days) because they were shipping them out from california. i live in washington.

then i received them this morning.. they overnight shipped them. not sure why they didn't just send them out earlier and save themselves the overnight shipping cost.
