If you played any of the older Just Dance games for the Wii, it's pretty much similar (with added new dancing features, of course). The 360 version is built especially for the Kinect, the graphics is enhanced and you can play online/battle your friends. Either/or they're both good, just depends on who's playing it.

dance central 2 does have a exercise mode....I had a friend pick that one up for me from walmart for $15 on black friday... I played it for the first time over the weekend with my girlfriend highly recommend it...

From what I understand you have to get the Katy Perry version at Best Buy. There is a Rihanna version at Target. I don't know if there are others.

I'd say it's more geared toward girls. My son who's 12 plays it with the family but I can tell he's not that into it. My 10 year old daughter on the other hand can't get enough of it. I got her the Best Buy Katy Perry version which was a better deal about 2 weeks ago. This is still a great price though and I'd jump on it if I didn't already buy it.

The dance choreo isn't as good as Just Dance 3 (it has four-person choreo!) However, if you really want to get down and get a tutorial of the moves broken down...Dance Central 2 is better in that regard.

Personally, I prefer the live person dancing compared to an avatar. It just looks smoother.

I just bought it after reading IGN review (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1199468p1.html)and had $3.00 worth of credit, so I thought it was an excellent deal. I think there are songs everyone in the family - young or old(er) - would love to dance to.

I also want to get Dance Central 2 because one of the main features is that it is not an avatar, but you/your friends body/face, etc (that's my understanding) it also takes pics of you, that you can upload (God forbid!) but Just Dance 3 can see 4 people at a time. You can do 2 people or solo.

Also, Compare IGN's review of this game with Dance Central 2 and the list of songs each offers. As you said, it is subjective to taste, age, etc. And of course, who is likely to be playing this game.

Dance Central is more about specific dance moves, Just Dance 3 is more about having fun and looking silly. If it's for young kids and you're only getting one, Just Dance 3 is probably the more fun one where they'll be less frustrated.

I have both games and tried them with some friends the other day. I think Dance Central 2 is if you want to learn the dance moves. It's more picky about if you arms and legs are doing the right thing. Also if you are playing with multiple people, Dance Central 2 is for 2 people. If you want to learn the moves to a song in the Break It Down mode it's only for one player so the other person needs to do it off to the side. I'd probably play this one as single player.

We ended up playing Just Dance 3 because it's easier in a multiplayer setting. You can play with up to 4 people and it's less picky about if you are doing it right or not because I think it only tracks your right hand. But with multiple people, the scoring is not always accurate because sometimes it'll think you are a different player if you get in the space of another player. For example, there were 3 of us playing and sometimes there would be 4 scores because one person's score would be split into 2 because they moved into the space of the would be 4th person. But if you just want to move around and look silly with your friends and not care too much about score, Just Dance 3 is super fun.

I had the same problem. I went to the Amazon site, got in the customer chat thing, and told them I wanted either a full refund or the price difference back to my card. They originally said no and offered a "credit" to my Amazon account, but I refused and they gave in. My $9 should be refunded to my credit card in 2-3 business days. Try it!

We have both and my family likes Just Dance/ Just Dance Kids better.

Also DDR is not compatible with the latest Wii. I'd anticipate a new version of the pad game mats that are wireless soon if they want to remain relevant.
