I'm having continual problems loading SD from IE 7. Issues:

Doesn't remember me.
Always loads in Hybrid mode, even after I switch to Classic and save.
Missing graphics replaced by placeholders.
Ads not showing up in the correct place
Log in boxes always show "username" so password fillers like Roboform can't fill the form.

I've cleared out my cache, cookies, index.dat...everything possible with IE7.

Firefox works ok, but that's not the point. And no, I'm not going to uninstall IE7. SD is the only site I frequent that has this issue. My IE7 security settings are "default".

IE7 is not going away. If SD has an issue with IE7, please advise on when this will be remedied. If there's something I'm missing as far as getting this to look right, I'd appreciate some info. It's maddening, I tell ya...maddening!

I have tested SD 2.0 with IE7 more than extensively, starting with Beta 2 release, and have zero issues with it.

Even now, it works fine. WIth logging in, out, keeping logged in, etc. It's no different than other 2 browsers I use with it.

I would be curious to look at a few screenshots with problems you are experiencing. Any add blockers/firewalls installed whch are IE-specific?

Ok, most of my issues seem to have been because of my Google Toolbar (which I had removed from the viewable portion of IE 7 because of browser real estate. It was set to block popups on SD. Are your buttons and in-place ads considered popups?

However, still some things to remedy. I always get a "Cookies Cleared" message upon logging out of SD. Is that normal? I would think that's why it's not saving my login settings. I don't know if that's SD or IE7 doing that.

See my attached screenshot about that.

Additionally, in the User Central section, there's always a filled in User Name box that says "User Name". That voids out using Roboform for log ins unless I clear that box first. Is that IE 7 or is that SD that's doing that?

I do believe, however, that the "Cookies Cleared" message is why I'm having problems being remembered.

Nope, they should not be considered popups. I don't use Google Toolbar with IE7, but I could try to see why it could be happening.

Yes, it's normal. The cookie gets cleared from any personal information upon logout. Only SD cookies are affected, nothing more.

That's the default for the forum software, there is not a simple way to change it.

If you are logging off, forum software will not remember you. Your best bet if you want to be remembered is to not log off :).

My bad on using the term "logging off". SD previously would not remember me if I left the site (closed the web page). It was acting akin to explicitly logging off as far as the site behavior was concerned, because next time I went back to SD, I would always have to log back in.

Anyway, remarkably everything seems to be working today. My credentials are remembered, and I can quit the web page, shut down the pc, and come back and I won't have to add credentials. Graphics seem OK, too,

BTW, the Google Toolbar is a holdover from IE 6. Will probably uninstall the thing now that I have IE 7 in place.

Thanks for the help. I would suggest trying Google Toolbar yourself in "blocked popup" mode on SD to see if you can replicate the problem for future reference.

I was using version 4.0.1020.2544 of the toolbar.

Sounds good, thanks for details - I will do some testing with Google Toolbar. I won't be able to have it "upgraded" from IE6, since I have IE7 installed already, but we'll see if anything happens with it.

I'm using firefox and it keeps logging me out every 3 minutes or so. Even though I've clicked "remember me"...and it's not even as if I'm closing the browser. I'll be reading a thread and then go to post only to be told I must sign in again. This has been happening for days now. It's the same with explorer.
