As I was perusing Ebay tonight, the thought of how much I hate Ebay and their greedy ways made it's way from the back of my mind to the front and center. So I did a search and found an Online Auction comparison site and that's how I found out about:

962958

I do not work for this company or am in any way affiliated with them, I'm just a fed up Ebay seller. Anyway, WebStore is an advertiser sponsored Auction Site, so they allow Sellers to list absolutely FREE, NO FEES whatsoever! So we can afford to sell our stuff a little cheaper to the buyers and everybody wins. I am a little weary of actually doing true auction listings yet, because I don't know how many people are aware of this site, but I will start listing BUY NOW items immediately. There is nothing to lose!

I got the idea that if we could get all SLICKDEALERS to do a massive migration from Ebay to this site, we could make it thrive and put a big dent in Ebay's coffers. Hopefully it would either give people a new place to actually make a profit selling on the internet, or it could hurt Ebay enough where they would come to their senses and lower their fees, so their not the only ones making a profit! Here is what www.webstore.com (http://www.webstore.com/index.php) has to offer.

They should hire you to promote.

ya you get no fees but you get no trafic either...
For an on-line reseller there are 3 choices and 3 choices only : Ebay ,Amazon and CL.Ya you might sell books on half.com or have a marketseller account on Sears.com but for a low end reseller that doesn't go over 5k a month the first 3 are the only viable choices ..
There's also Ubid or google/yahoo front stores but this accounts are not for the casual seller

Did anybody even bother to read the post? I admit the title is slightly misleading to get your attention, which it obviously did, but I had never heard of this site before tonight. I don't get the response to this post, it's free auction listings, what's not to like. The idea is to get people to start using a free site, so we can make money, duh!

The idea is to get people to start using a free site, ...

so you want to take on the 800 lb gorilla and thought you'd use slickdeals for free advertising.

nice try

you need buyers to make an online auction house successful... slickdealers are all resellers ;-)

lol
So I guess we should just keep bending over for Ebay and hand them the Vaseline while we're at it! I was just trying to offer an alternative and I thought people on here would actually be interested.

ebay can charge 10% FVF's because they have cornered the market share.

This will never change. You should be happy they don't charge 20% or even 30% FVF. What would you do then? There'd still be no viable alternative.

So give them their 10% and live with it.

What are you trying to say? Of course it's not a free... The cost to sell stuff on ebay is so high..... Have even tried to sell anything? It's not free...
