View Full Version : Suggestion - Change the way ignored posts are displayed

I have people that I have added to my ignore list for a specific reason. I generally don't care to read anything they've posted. But when I'm trying to help someone (like in the Tech Support forum), I may want to see a post from these folks so I don't waste someone's time by asking for the same info again.

Tivocommunity (and probably their sister site avsforum) provides this functionality. You see the post in the thread, but it's compressed (like what you have here with hidden posts). You can click on it to open it up, but the default is to leave it closed.

Does anyone else think this would be valuable?

It used to be that way, and most people asked for it to be the way it is now. :dontknow:

It used to be that way, and most people asked for it to be the way it is now. :dontknow:Cool, so can you just keep changing it every 3 months? :) Or maybe take a poll and see which people prefer now that they've seen both?

Is there any chance that this would be a user-configurable option, or is it a site-wide thing? Seems like the latter to me, just curious.

It's site wide. We used to get tons of complaints from users that they could still see that people on their ignore list posted in a thread.

So, we changed it to how it is now. Since that change (been a while now), you're the first to want it the other way. :dontknow: It is very unlikely that we'll change it back.
