The biggest problem I have finding deals are those travel deal anomalies that occur occasionally (like Spirit Airlines $7 one-way fares). I constantly use websites such as sidestep.com and search the forums here ALL the time, but I don't always have time to filter through 100 threads trying to find travel deals. Is it possible for you to create a travel deal forum?

Being that travel deals are almost always on the forum, I think it would not only help make the site easier, but I think you could bring even more traffic to SlickDeals.

Thanks,

J.B.

Brisar,

I have in fact seen the travel thread, and while it has great resources for links, its full of scattered information. One guy is asking for a trip to a Hawaii for help and another is asking for Disney information. Additionally, that doesn't help me when I'm looking to see when Southwest is having a deal or IcelandAir (one separate thread from a couple of days ago) is having a summer sale, as the users do not post in the same thread. I could see this thread becoming a 100+ page long cumbersome thread. That being said, more often than not I'm not considering a particular airline that has a sale, or a rental car company because I do not know to search for them. If we had a forum/subforum for this topic, myself and others could just open the folder and see all the potential deals with said airlines or cruise lines and such. Just a suggestion that I feel would benefit both the users of SlickDeals and the operators.

You may also try filtering using category icons - here is a link for Travel in Hot Deals (http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdisplay.php?sduid=404&f=9&sort=lastpost&order=desc&icon=48). Granted, you have to rely on others to properly mark it, but most of the time it's done right.

That helps a bit. I still would argue that there needs to be a travel deal sub-forum, something I doubt will ever be implemented, as there are only like two sub-forums on SD. I understand the reluctance, but in some ways the forums are disorganized (IMO).

the travel icon, the stickied travel thread in 'help me find a deal' and advanced search works for me.
