It looks like the Deal Alerts are being deleted like they're supposed to, but the count isn't being updated properly.
No my deal alerts aren't being autodeleted like they're supposed to. I have some from last Sunday.

I disabled the PM cleanup feature for the time being, while I fix the PM count bug

Bug has been fixed. PMs will be recounted overnight.

I had this issue today. The system said I had 3 unread PMs but only 2 new ones showed up. I deleted all messages in my inbox and this seems to have fixed the issue but I never was able to read the missing PM and now I wonder what it said.

This is odd indeed - I checked, and for some reason the system thought you had 2 unread PMs rather than one (and updated the count to reflect that) - must have been a glitch in the matrix. Let us know if it happens again.
