I just called sephora and asked them when their "friends and family" sale was. They mentioned that we had to get an invitation from someone who worked for sephora. I don't remember this being the case last year. Does anyone remember?

It will depend on the fragrance you choose. The sets come with a pamphlet that contains the coupon you exchange for the full sized bottle. In side the pamphlet, it explains which size you can get for each fragrance with the coupon.

I recycle the white tissue-paper type paper for presents,etc. Just ordered my first Neiman Marcus and they sent a boat-load of tissue paper but it was neatly folded and will do nicely for xmas presents coming up!

That's what I do too. Just get a big shipping box and keep it in the garage or basement. If you don't have one of those use one of those totes things from Target. Sephora started sending the ugly brown paper though. Some use it as wrapping paper and decorate it. Maybe I should do that and try to be creative :lol:.

I really like everything LP makes, but really that would be the size of a rollerball that holds like 2 spritzes :lol: (if you figure out the math the sample comes out to being worth pennies even with air in the tube as a spray). No idea why sephora's been so stingy on the samples lately :dontknow:

I went in store to get it (no purchase necessary) and it is pretty small. The little tube it was in reminded me of a perfume sample. I don't think it is worth it.

so i went into sephora today to exchange something and also asked for the free tarina tarantino primer for showing my sephora app. the SA had never heard of it though and she asked two other SAs and out of the two she asked only one had heard of it. i didn't know the primer was also being offered as the 100 point perk

i also asked her when the 20% off friends and family sale would be going on in store cause i told her i knew it was going on online and she said that when i check out just tell the SA i got the email about the sale and they'd give me the 20% off! so even though i was exchanging something she returned it for me and gave me a gift card so that i could buy the item i was exchanging for with the 20% off and i got a chance to look around for what i wanted with the 20% off! :)

I'm so disappointed with Sephora. I called them to tell them I haven't received my VIB invite and the lady says "Oh it say you were never signed up for emails. I'm going to sign you up now." She signs me up and says I should start receiving emails in 10-15 business days.

What is she talking about I was never signed up.. I've been receiving Sephora emails all along. I think that is their way of trying to cover up for not sending all the VIB invites out.

I just called the VIB line since I haven't recieved a card or an email either. The rep told me that they have been getting a lot of calls from people complaining. She said they have not finished sending out all of the cards and I should be getting one within the next couple of days. She said if I don't get anything by the 11th I should call them back. I should be getting my other F&F order today or tomorrow so maybe there's something in the box. Will let you know.....



I'm so disappointed with Sephora. I called them to tell them I haven't received my VIB invite and the lady says "Oh it say you were never signed up for emails. I'm going to sign you up now." She signs me up and says I should start receiving emails in 10-15 business days.

What is she talking about I was never signed up.. I've been receiving Sephora emails all along. I think that is their way of trying to cover up for not sending all the VIB invites out.

While it's "possible" if you do it quick enough so the barcode didn't register by the time you go from the first store to the other, there's no way the high volume stores are going to have them left by the time you get to the second store. I remember last year (and a bunch of times during the year for VIB gifts) I'd get there at like 10:30 am, and everything was gone, or that they started giving them away early at like 4 instead of 6 to everyone, not just who had the printout.

You can only use one gift card online (the $15 off acts like a GC). I'm pretty sure if you use it in store you can use both.

I have a bunch of the small freebie ones from last years Sephora wish game that are in striptease and dolce vita. They're very smooth, but sheer. I also have turkish delight, which is a beauty cult favorite and looks awesome over pretty much any lipstick. The lip glazes are a different consistency overall and IMHO I think the stila glazes are slightly thicker and have a better staying power. With the nars, know that there needs to be a primer or a balm, lipstick combo before it. (i've never tried the nars stains though that are the other end in the first link, sorry.)

And for those not interested in the double ended there's also a full size Nars lip gloss (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P2862&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=3976) in all night long (plum) that is on sale for $10 as well.

I didn't get the snail mail coupon either, that's why I originally called. the lady was very nice but she said they have been receiving a lot of calls. She said "don't worry, you'll get an email instead". Which is fine but when I logged on this morning the Josie Maran set I wanted was oos. I received mine via email just like everyone else, but when I went to check out with it, it only deducted $2 from my total purchase so I was like :confused:
As I checked my balance in the GC section, it said I only had $2 on it... I know I didn't use it yet, so I called CS and they said that I must have either used it or given it to someone to use (neither of which I did) but that if I still wanted to check out using the $15/40, they can process the order for me manually but that I'd have to spend $40... :(

So -- if you paid more with your GC (than your CC), then you will be issued a GC; if you paid more with your CC, then you will be issued a credit to your CC.
