you can combine an egc iirc. just not a physical gc that has a pin#.
Argh, I thought the VIB 10% could be used in conjunction with the GC, but was told no in store :( I purposely didn't call about an adjustment for my black Friday purchases (I got my 10% sent on the 27th!) because I figured I would just use it when I used that $20. Do you think I might be able to sweet talk them to letting me get the adjustment from BF, even though it's been awhile?

I don't know if it's because they're super busy, but this seems to be normal for now. For my last few orders I didn't receive any confirmations, but I manually logged into my Sephora account and saw that they were processed and shipped. Hope this helps! :)

I've never heard of anyone getting their account flagged at Sephora for buying too much (unlike at VS, who will flag your account for anything and everything).

The only thing I've ever heard Sephora flagging an account for is excessive returns. I had asked an SA when I was returning a cleanser I was allergic to if it was okay that I did 2 returns at the same time and she just laughed and said that was nothing compared to what some people do- you have to return a couple times a week for weeks before they get suspicious. Even then, it's returns without a receipt that throw up the most red flags!

Yes, more likely than not you used it as the ones that come in mail are the same as the emailed ones. You can always double check the balance on the gift card in the gift card section of the site. It will probably be $0.

i placed an order on monday and used the promotion code nailpups to get the trio of tokidoki nail buffers and when they arrived today they looked all faded and crappy so i called sephora to see if i could possibly get new ones even though i know it's a freebie/promotion. and the guy was super nice and credited my account with an addition 100 points instead! :)

My order total ended up being 8.65, and then the shipping put it over $15. I think that if you go over the $15, they're less likely to make it not go through. But that's totally conjecture.
I was able to get such a low total just by looking through items I was actually interested in, and then seeing if any were on sale, and then finding one I would have actually bought in that. It took a little while, because I didn't want to buy something I wouldn't use. Also, their Sale category doesn't show everything that's on sale, and you kind of have to look around for the things that are low priced to use as a "filler" to bump up the total too, which can be a pain. Hope that helps some!

For makeup brushes, I really love the Bare Minerals ones. I got the EcoTools set and thought they were okay, but the powder brush is terrible. It's very dense and not fluffy at all and picks up WAY too much product. I would just stick to their eyeshadow brushes.

you can get banned for making too many orders in one day, I got 2 email accounts blocked. 1 for using too many gift cards that were bought on fleabay, the other for too many orders in a reasonable period (they believe you are a reseller at that point). I told them I wasn't, it was just christmas season but they did not believe me. I made 2 separate calls for both accounts and nothing have changed. I think they started doing the banhammer when the VIB gift card season started.

Unless you call CS directly to ask, I think they only way to find out if your account is blacklisted is when you hit the submit button on an order and it won't go through. Hopefully you got lucky!

I did at least 10 too grabbing gifts on my VIB acct. I just ordered some extra T3 rollers for my hot roller set, seemed to go through fine and submitted itself and I just got the confirmation. It sounds like if I was blacklisted it wouldn't have gone through?

ETA: if you don't have a UD palette already, get a naked or a naked2 palette, I seriously use mine every day. I can buy a million shadows, I just always seem to come back to UD for their staying power and pigment.

ETA: if you don't have a UD palette already, get a naked or a naked2 palette, I seriously use mine every day. I can buy a million shadows, I just always seem to come back to UD for their staying power and pigment.

I placed 2 orders on jan 3, one shipped one canceled because of unsuccessful authorization. nothing is wrong with my credit card. sephora automatically canceled the second order. not sure what is going on. i certainly spend a lot with them. i have 5 accounts with them and each has an average of 4000 points so I am certain that I spend A LOT with them. Still have some receipts that total a few hundreds points that I bought when i forgot to bring my cards, lol. need to call to add those points in....

A few of my orders also had "unsuccessful authorization." even though I only used 1 credit card. If worse comes to worse, you can ALWAYS redeem your points at a store with a small purchase, if they block you, they only block you online, not in stores.

most of them were on skincare. shiseido future solution is about $250/jar. my mom and aunts use these. they use roughly 1 jar evry 2 months. there's morning, evening, and eye cream. we just spent around 1 grand on some hair dryers and other hair tools/machine just last month. i don't spend a lot on makeup stuffs.

Well, that's a first for me with Sephora. They cancelled half of my order from yesterday because one of the items was out of stock even though it was in stock when I ordered early in the morning yesterday. That then put the order below $25 so that cancelled my Algenist skin cream deluxe sample worth $24. On top of that, the out of stock eye shadow came back into stock right before I received the cancellation email from them. Sephora usually does better than that and it's not even Christmas now so they can't be all that busy.

I went to a JCP sephora Friday. They didn't have the perk. They didn't have any perks, but they do have birthday gifts. I had to go to a stand alone store to get mine.

Definitely YMMV, but I went to my local JCP Sephora and all of their Oscar Blandi hair care products were on sale on the cheap cheap! I got the Volumizing Spray for $4. They also had the dry shampoo for $5 or the small purse size for $3. The root touch-up pens were $5, Smoothing Shampoo and conditioners I think were $4, and some kind of conditioning hair treatment -- I believe that was $8.

Oh, on Sephora's fb page, I believe due to some complaints by beauty insiders not being included, they changed the code requirements to allow bi to use the code with any skincare purchase and 100 bi points whether you have the actual 100 points available at the moment or not. Meaning, a bi with no bi points will have a negative 100 points after redeeming the DRENCH code, etc. It's no big deal for me because I think the Ole Hendrickson choice is really nice versus the usual 100 pt option of a lipgloss or a deluxe mascara sample, etc. hth.
